As for turning them off, I doubt that will prolong the life of the units.
I suspect just as other jammer units, just having the unit on will not effect the life span becasue it is not doing anything, it is just looking for a signal. If it was jamming all the time I would suspect that they would die quicker but most people don't jam everyday or multiples times per day so no worries.
It might also depend on how much you drive seeing as how the heads are outside the car in a very harsh environment depending on the weather etc.
Even having them switched off will not save them from this IMO.
it should not matter what environment they are in, if they are properly built and sealed from the environment they should last the life of the car. They might fail because of a component failure but it should not happen because of the environmental conditions.Quote:
