Best place to buy detector? (sti-r)

Hi,

I am very new to this forum although I have been reading it for years :). My V1 got stolen recently and I am thinking of getting the STI - r .Where is the best place to get it 1) cheap 2) with warranty!

I dont see it on the radar busters site. I dont think they sell it anymore.

It's discontinued, so you just have to catch as catch can.

STi-R is discontinued and there are no authorized sellers that have STi-R's so I suggest you complain to escort about removing the best possible radar detector from their shelves

Just have to search around on the internet and see who still has them.

If you can't find he STi-R I'm sure RB will have the new QI-45 if you want a remote mount. Not quite the same as a STi-R but probably the best in that price range for remote mount.

Funny, I read everywhere that the STI-r is a better performer than V1. However, the latest test for GOL shows otherwise.

What am I missing?

The big picture.

Performance is not a one-dimensional entity. There are several factors to be taken into consideration. The STi-R sometimes has better range than the V1. Sometimes not. It is not consistent.

Given the shortcomings of the STi-R in regards to I/O performance, I would say that, even in the best case scenario, the extra range offered by the STi-R over the V1 compensates enough to call it a better performer.

I see no difference in range on my STi-R and my V1. If I had to pick between one or the other the V1 would stay.
