Re: Ultimate stealth antenna
Yee Ha! Here comes another Ga. redneck to the CB party! Heard he has a pickup too....
:D:D
Re: Ultimate stealth antenna
Actually, this is the 2nd CB. The 1st went in the F250, non-stealth a couple of weeks back and I already have a save from it. The stealth install will be in the show truck which is already pretty loaded with countermeasures. :D
Re: Ultimate stealth antenna
I finally got mine up and running in the new road car and the first traffic I heard on the road was a trucker giving a bear report!
Re: Ultimate stealth antenna
Funny when you think about it. A guy in a hot Caddy and a guy in a truck that is the last truck you'd expect to see a CB on... and here we are with them. I guess if someone like Cat4 can run it on a Corvette, everything is fare game. It really has turned out to be a useful countermeasure tool in the short time I've had it.
On the way back from taking the wife out to dinner tonight there was a big rig truck on a dark stretch of non-interstate who's rear lights had a connection problem (they kept blinking on and off). CB came in handy then. Turned on the CB and said "south bound driver on xxx, you've got a problem with your tail-lights" and he gave me a very grateful reply (the county police station is near his route). I was little surprised he was running his radio on an empty back road but it was nice knowing I had a tool which *might* get his attention.
Re: Ultimate stealth antenna
I never would have considered a CB radio before I saw some of the vids posted on this forum. Now I feel naked without one.
At first I was surprised at the amount of useful info you can get on 2 lanes. Any time you are near any kind of trucking hub or even a logging operation a lot of the drivers seem to know each other and call out plenty of bear reports/road hazards etc.
I often ask drivers that I'm about to pass if it's clear and they'll usually back off and let me around.
