Multaradar C - Does anything detect it?
Recently in Egypt they started using MultaRadar C (Multanova K band radar combined with German Robot cameras). They aim it to the departing traffic (get you from the back). I have a Bel 966 fitted in one car, and a Bel STi Driver (windshield type) in the other one, neither react at all (the 966 picks up one dash when right beside the unit, and that happens sometimes, not always). Both detectors are otherwise perfect, they detect everything else (Ka in Multanova 6F, and K band from older radars and supermarket doors). Any ideas on what detector stands a chance against the MultaRadar CD? Any advice would be appreciated.

Try a vertical mount bracket. I'm not sure of the polarization of that particular radar, but i had a noticeable increase in range mounting vertically on K band. Including automatic doors:o It's worth a try.

LOL @ Automatic doors
My Bel 966 R antenna is already mounted vertically behind the radiator grille, as all Multanovas (including the Ka narrow ones) are polarized vertically, this increases detection range a bit (or a lot, depends on who you believe!). Doesn't do much with those MulaRadars though... it barely beeps once when I am passing by it, if that. Either the frequency is diced, or it is so weak that the detector dismisses the signal for noise....

Hmm, I thought that STi D doesn't have any problem with the Multaradar C detection:
Mulradar C towards the detector:

Mulradar C towards the opposite direction:

And no, Multaradar C isn't vertically polarized (horizontally if we talk about electric field orientation) like Multanova.
Re: Multaradar C - Does anything detect it?
€, thanks for the effort, but I do not think the radar in those videos is a MultaRadar C. My Bel STi Driver does not react to this radar until I am on top of it. It detects other K band signals easily (other radar units, automatic doors..etc.) but not the MultRadar. Mr Ojazd/Najazd was detecting something else IMHO.

This IS definitely Multaradar C. What we can see in those vids is a TraffiTower:

TraffiTower is able to contain Multanova or Multaradar C. Multanova is a Ka band photoradar (by the way, its production is finished), so Multaradar C is the only K band device that can operate in this housing. I can say also the person who made these videos is not a noobe and knows for sure what's inside.
Regarding to your detection problems let me ask - are you 100% sure that your car has no athermic windshield?
EDIT:
Hassan_az, just noticed that you mounted 966's antenna vertically - OK, here is why have problems to detect Multaradar C by 966.
Do you use vertical bracket for STi D too?
Re: Multaradar C - Does anything detect it?
Hi €; I am 100% sure that both my cars do not have athermic windows. Tested detectors vs automatic door both from behind windshield and handheld outside window, signal strenth appears uneffected much. Am travelling for a week starting tomorrow, but will attempt to set 966 antenna horizontally upon return (which is obviously not behind a windshield).
By the way, here is a picture of the tripod mounted MultaRadar C with the Robot camera in use here. A friendly cop let me take some pictures. This shoots traffic from behind (outbound traffic). It is clearly marked MultaRadar CD. I am unable to post links as I am still a newbie to the forum, but pasting the line below to your browser and removing the spaces should work.

Once again thank you for your care and views.

Re: Multaradar C - Does anything detect it?
Thanks OldGoat for the x-reference. It is my understanding the newest Photo radar vans used in Arizona use K bank MultaRadar C, not Ka. A Video widely available on the net by GPSradar.com (Cheetah) confirms that. The radar antenna mounted on top of those vans is very similar to one attached to the device in use here in Egypt. See my post above for a link to the picture.
