Valentine, beltronics, or passport

ok guys.
i am looking for a new radar detector. I am looking for distance more so, i dont really care about the fancyness.. we own a passport 8500, but now looking for a new one for the other vehicle.
i was looking at the passport 9500 or redline. , the Valentine 1, or a beltronics.
what is the best one for distance and accuracy?

First off, do you drive mostly on the highway or in the city?

its mostly city, some highway.

I'd go with the 9500ix then. The V1 or Redline would probably drive you crazy in the city because of all the false alerts. Where are you located?

If you are looking for distance, get the Redline.

is there a rating on distance for them?
are they all pretty much the same?

For the high-end windshield mounted RDs, here's how they rate for distance:

1. Escort RedLine
2. V1
3. Bel STi
4. Escort 9500ix

If your from Canada you might want to look into one of the undetectable M3 antennas (STi, STi-R, Redline, 9500ci) if you do mostly city driving I'd suggest the 9500ci since it has the whole gps/lockout thing.
