$280 on craigs list for a V1 V1.8—POP2 with Euro Mode v3.825
I was going to have the one I purchased new upgraded v3.812 but I figured if I doubled my money the wife could have one in her car also.

By the time you send it back to VR and have it tuned up ($40 + shipping) you could have had a factory refurb unit for $360 and a warranty.
Do not upgrade the 812 many such as myself believe the pre POP 1.8's are the best versions out there.
I work close to the store in cincinnati so I could just stop by to have it upgraded. But the thing I'm not sure about is when I put the serial number in on the web site it says it doesn' t need upgraded? Nothing says anything about a $40 upgrade? Plus I didn't know until after the fact about the refurb or I may have gone that route.
Not upgrades, tuned up to original factory specs.
We warry of used detectors if you do not know where they came from, usually they are not working well is why the owner sells them.
Did you verify with VR it was not stolen before you bought it. If you email them the serial # they will let you know if it has been reported stolen.
Yes, I checked, it's not stolen. In other words they just make sure it's working properly? So they may not do anything to it, just look it over? I ran with both of them on the way to work the other morning and they both went off at the same time passing a LEO. Got shot with laser also and they both went off at the same time. Still think it needs a tune up?
Your call, but running 2 detectors together is a no-no. They will interfere with each other.
I would run it for a few weeks and see how it performs. If you feel comfortable with it then it's probably OK.
You did ok, but you could've saved a little extra and gotten a refurbed with a warranty :) If it's not performing as well as you think it should send it in for the $45 tuneup.
