Re: Escort Extended warranty
Yes, I bought a two-year extended warranty for my Redline for $29.95. I was told I had until the "year factory warranty" was up to purchase the extended warranty.
Make sure you keep your paper work. They may ask for it to see if you purchased it from a factory dealer, and what date you purchased it. I was asked where I bought mine and that was it. They took my CC info over the phone, and in a week or so, I received a letter, and card with an (escort service plan sticker) to place on the bottom of my Redline.
I want to say the extended warranty & sticker gives your RD priority.. At least this is what I was told.
Good luck.
Re: Escort Extended warranty
Not an additional 3 years. Our extended warranty (ESP) is for an additional 2 years on top of the 1 year warranty that comes with our detectors, 3 year warranty total.
Yes, you get priority service should you ever need to send in your Escort detector that has an ESP.
Re: Escort Extended warranty
One really stupid part of the deal is they send you a freakin' sticker and want you to put it on your detector near the serial number for the warranty (it says "ESP" or something close). I am not putting a cheesy sticker on my Redline.

I put the sticker on the bottom of the Redline between the serial number and the lens. I don't ever see it, and really forget that it's on there.
Re: Escort Extended warranty
Like I said, I am not putting a cheesy sticker on my RL. They know my serial # and that I bought the ext. warr. so why the cheesy sticker??
Re: Escort Extended warranty
If you ever need "extended warranty work" they will just toss yours into the pile. You'll get it back in 3 months. Maybe. All you had to do was put the sticker on. :D
I guess it really doesn't matter as you said, if you bought the warranty they are going to look up your info before working on it anyway..
Maybe the Escort rep will weigh in on what happens to those who don't put the sticker on, but have bought the extended warranty.. Does the sticker really even matter?
Re: Escort Extended warranty
We de-tune those that didn't put the sticker on which made us dig through their file to locate their ESP purchase. I kid! :D
We "link" a detector with the ESP in our system when you purchase the ESP. The sticker isn't really necessary, just a holdover from the good ole days.
Re: Escort Extended warranty
That sounds about right.
A .01 sticker on a $500 detector, NOT.
