Help Required Beltronics Rx65 identification

Hello im in a bit of a pickle and would like some advise please.

I purchased a Bel RX65 blue display from a company in the UK.
I expected it to be suitable for UK use, bands specifically used are K band in the Uk.
On the bands listed appear to cover the ones i need great, or so i thought.

The detection range is extremely poor on K band tried all the usual stuff altering the bands apart from K (which is what i need) to see if it made any difference, to no avail.

Compared to my Bel euro 550 (alerts to a Static Gatso photo radar contstant on) @ approx 300m

the Rx 65 was picking it up @ 50m!!!!!!

The serial number starts BE im led to believe this is a USA model
Serial numbers starting with BD are European models is this the case?

when i reset the Rx65 the firmware displays 6.3

I looked into the european distributor for Bel and it is a company called Target automotive based in Holland, they do not even ship to companies in the UK!!!

It apears that i Have a USA version sold by an unauthorised seller and the company wont take the unit back because they state it is picking up the k band therfore working.

All i want is a detector that is specifically tunned to pick up K band.

My question is can my unit be updated with firmware for UK use??

If i have no joy then ive I Bel RX65 for sale 4 days old Used once (sniff):(

turn all bands off on the rx65 and just leave k band on.

Thanks for your speedy reply i have tried that also with no improvement to the detection range.

You have bought RX-65pro 6.3 firmware made for U.S. market
The 6.3 firmware is notoriusly slow in europe against K band and KA band as well
You should get it RX-65pro 6.5 version made specially for europian market then your detector
would stand out to its full potencial.
Sorry to give you the bad message but once the firmware is programmed into the detector it cannot be change with out damageing the microprocessor controling your detector.

Hi thanks for you input guys,
I have returned the unit as it wasnt for uk ? EU market it was for the USA.

now trying to source a good unit tweaked for low powered K band.

Hi there i have managed to send my Usa version Rx65 back.

I now want to find the correct RX65e Version 6.5 European model.

Do you know who stocks these?
