I'm originally from Los Angeles. You can literally pass a cop doing 85, if the rest of the "pack" is doing 85. CHP will not pull you or the pack over, so long as you're not weaving in an out, but if you are orderly and following a safe distance behind, you're all good. Now, if you're the only one doing 85 and everyone is going 70? SCREWED.
I've been in the "Dirty South" 3 years now and the PoPos don't mess around here.

GA is no problem, easiest state I have ever been in to speed. All of the laws are setup to give the driver an advantage.
NC and VA though suck on speeding laws!!!

I'm from NC myself and I know all about "North Cackylacky" speed laws, I'm stationed out on the West Coast and know exactly what your talking about from my travels through Cali, the mentality/drivers/LEO's have a little different take on speeding compared to back home. Now if I could just get them Californians to give a turn signal before crossing 5 lanes of traffic to exit the Interstate all would be well. ;):DQuote:
