Could they make a better Valentine One Radar Detector With Gps?
I was wondering if there was any way possible that V1 could make a RD that could tell you where the radar threat is by using GPS?
If they have the patent for the arrows then why not go a step further and triangulate the source of the radar and have some sort of read out on the V1.
I think in this day and age we should be past the little lights or the little beeps as we get closer to the source. Seems like someone needs to step up. V1 has been ahead of this game for as long as I can remember.
I guess when I think about the technology that we have today why cant this be done?
Or are they afraid that this well help law makers try to outlaw detectors period?

Go look at the V1 section and look for the radar roy thread...

Mike is still working on it.

Since we don't have any more emoticons that work:

Actually, Justglockem seems to be talking about something different than what has been previously done or discussed. He's talking using GPS to pinpoint the threat received by the detector itself. We used a similar system in the military to locate the firing point of incoming rounds and sniper shots. T'would be expensive, but cool!

^^^
I remember this being posted before (I think before the 9500i even came out... thus before GPS was a true reality on high-end on detectors)...
100(percent symbol here) Regardless:
Point being... any talk of VR making any extensive modification to their unit is BS anyways, so regardless if it's a new idea (which, again, I do not believe it is anyways... but it might be) is a moot point...so IMHO it is still beating a dead horse... because we are essentially talking about a new unit out of VR...
Just my $.02 when anyone says anything about extensive-modifications to the V1, and I have 15+years on my side...
Is it possible to do what the OP asks... probably. Is VR going to do it... no.
So it's just a different beating, of a different horse Stealth. :p
Re: Could they make a better Valentine One Radar Detector With Gps?
That was exactly my question, thanks Stalker.. I have never seen anything written about the type of program that I am speaking of. Sure GPS we have, other RD's are using it Blah Blah Blah. I guess I am thinking of something like a tracer round that can measure speed distance if the unit is stationary or moving. But the way that I am asking and having a ****ty time describing has not been done yet. I imagine it well with time.
We all got excited (some of us) when cell phone company's started talking about working with V1. Its time to step up. I did not read Roy's blog until recently. I am kind of pissed that Mike V has not done **** since he came out with this detector. I bought my first V1 in 1999, and many more since.
I could see in the near future Cobra taking what he did and making a better Radar for the simple reason his ass has gotten lazy.

I am not sure it is possible, since the radar bounces off objects, you would need an eye in the sky like google maps to pin point but then again radar bounces.
