WA - Failure to stop for a school bus will cost you a ticket, with new ticket camera
Re: WA - Failure to stop for a school bus will cost you a ticket, with new ticket cam
I can't believe nobody's invented a camera to catch school bus violations yet. If it's all about safety...

wow almost $400 what a rip
Re: WA - Failure to stop for a school bus will cost you a ticket, with new ticket cam
This is one "law" that I am 100 percent in favor of. It only takes one careless and idiotic driver to hit a child, and kill them. If someone doesn't have enough common sense to stop for a school bus, they deserve much worse than a 400 dollar fine.

Quote:
"The law states that the fine cannot be reduced, suspended or anything," says Sergeant Freddie Williams. "If you get a ticket for failure to stop for a school bus, the fine will be $394."
Of course, if you get caught driving a school bus while drunk, you can get all of those special considerations that the light runner can't. Nice.
I was shooting lidar one day and got a loaded school bus doing 60 in a 40. When she finally saw me, she slammed on the brakes so hard I thought kids were going to come through the windshield!

Been years since I've ridden a school bus but I'm pretty sure the driver just had to get the plate# and a ticket would be sent. Fine at the time was $309.
