That's true for all city, county and university police. Does not apply to the GSP.
ok...thats cat4. Also, I read that a speed enforcement vehicle MUST be visible from 500 feet away and be marked with blue lights on top of the vehicle? A slick top cannot do enforcement?Quote:

Here is a newsletter from the GA Traffic prosecutors office, it will explain a lot.
No they are not supposed to use them for traffic enforcement, but the courts will not invalidate a ticket if you get stopped by one because they just happened to see the violation.

I believe the exact law you are referring to is held within O.C.G.A 40-14-9
I believe I'm comfortable in saying that most laws in that title are limited in scope to 'county, municipal, or campus law enforcement officers', (i.e. not the GSP), just to reiterate what cat4 said.Quote:

No speed detection device shall be employed by county, municipal, or campus law enforcement officers on any portion of any highway which has a grade in excess of 7 percent.
