Whistler Se users experiencing ka9 falses
I am currently working on finding the source of this issue some users are having and would like to gather some info. Here is how you can help. If you are experiencing any ka9 falses.
When you experience a ka false please note
1. what time of day?
2. Was traffic heavy, light or in a rural area with no traffic.
3. Location as in City and State.
I think I have the source figured out but would like to collect as much data as I can.
Thanks in advance.
Re: Whistler Se users experiencing ka9 falses
Falses Ka badly in downtown and industrial areas afternoon, morning etc. Falses around elementary schools and LED display boards, some falsing around communication cell/towers and also satellite dishes. Falses on any cobra with in half mile to point blank range. Anything else? Michael B was supposed to come to Texas and meet up with me and test a really bad area where the Ka9 falses start.
A video i made of Ka9 falsing before Mike B fixed the amplifiers on the LO board. Sadly i still get falses but not as much
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxbX2Y_O6gs
Im willing to help or test in any way i can Mike B...

Thanks for actually contributing to help MB make improvements.
For my part, I am expecting to travel to the greater LA area to check things out personally.

Mine are mostly on the freeway. Cell towers seem to be a definite source of false alerts. More traffic equals more false alerts.
Re: Whistler Se users experiencing ka9 falses
Appears to be several sources causing the falsing. Some of what I am finding in common.
1. Heavier traffic = more falses.
2. Some sources appear to be moving as in passing vehicles (no RD's seen) and some are in fixed locations.
3. The fixed locations are not a steady signal, and appear randomly with no hint of a pattern of time between fasles.
4. Cell towers and satelite dishes may or may not be playing a role and if they are it is only a select few that I have not been able to identify yet. Reason I say that is I have parked very close to several cell towers and communication satelite dishes I felt would be a source with no falses. Dish network and direct tv satelite dishes are everywhere and I feel if they were causing any falses the rd would never be quiet.
Keep the info flowing and videos coming, I am hoping working together we can identify the source of some of these ka falses.

There's a cell tower on the north side of the 22, just west of the 57 that made my Whistlers false.

Good info, maybe I can get it to do the same for me and gather more info as in service provider, pics etc that may be helpful.
Re: Whistler Se users experiencing ka9 falses
Drive on I-20 through Dallas/Ft.worth and you will have Ka 9 falses and Ka falses for over a hour. My Pro 78 (non SE) rarely falsed on Ka band and when it did it was from leaky Rd's
Re: Whistler Se users experiencing ka9 falses
I know mine is not an SE model, I have the Pro 78 Rev C, I had that a lot going up to my dads, fixed it by turning off POP and setting filter 1. I don't know where it was coming from but narrowed it down to maybe transformers on the power poles, it seemed to only happen when I was driving along roads with more electric wires... could be electromagnetic pulses
