Unlocking A manual Lockout: please clarify
Hi I'm new to RDs and my 9500IX(bought it on Best buys Fathers day sale).
I have it mounted on my cycle -daily driver- in a Pelican box for weather proofing so I have no access to the controls other than the hardwired smart cord I have mounted inside my BarkBuster on the left grip.
Today I was hammered by laser, I assume by the intensity of my Parnse Visual alert and the fact that it is mostly laser enforcement here. It was dark at the time so in order to see the 9500 display I had to mute the visual alert because it is so bright by the time I got it muted(seemed to take 4-5 seconds) I saw that it said "stored"; it has never gone off in this area on my daily commute so I must have accidentally hit the mute a few times. It is hard to tell with gloves on and I was fumbling a bit in the dark.
The question is how do I unstore this location? I understand after several passes with no signal it will remove it but I want it out asap. Now I read I can manually undo it by going by the location and pressing the mute twice but does it have to be getting the signal or can I just drive by the same area and unlock it? Will the opposite direction lane 50-100 yards away on my way home be close enough to the location traveling 75mph in H mode?
Another question, does 4-5 seconds seem long for being lased considering I was driving the speed limit? It was dark and I couldn't find him. I ask because I just Veiled my lic. plate and all lights I also did some ultra-flat- blacking of some parts on my already black bike and plan on doing more.
Just trying to give myself as much warning as possible. Texas is outlawing laser jammers so I guess that is out.
I can post a pic of the front/rear end after work if needed to ascertain the lidar friendliness of the bike. It is a DualSport bike but yes it can go over the 65mph speed limit by 35mph :p

You have to have the signal present to unlock it manually. The ix will, over time, unlock it for you automatically. Not many people realize the ix can lock out laser as well as X and K band.
Re: Unlocking A manual Lockout: please clarify
Grab a TV remote that will set your IX off on laser, then drive (ride) to the location where you locked out the alert. Pull off the road (safety, ya know), then point the remote at your IX to trigger it on laser, then while the icon is spinning unlock it. Done.
Re: Unlocking A manual Lockout: please clarify
So on the way home I did 5 passes where I went about a mile past shut off the bike, seems I read the RD had to power down to be considered for auto save or to dismiss a location, ie laps past gps spot wouldn't count without power down. Now what if in the morning they are setup in the same spot, is that going to cancel out my laps extending the number of passes that need to be made to release my lockout?
Another question, on the way home I got lazed again about 5 miles from the other location, again I could not find him, it makes me think they are hiding next to the embankments of the overpasses and nailing traffic from the rear as it passes.
I am always(5 or 6 times in two weeks) getting hit after passing over an overpass.
If this is the case then any early warning is worthless because they can get me from zero feet and out rather than 1500 feet to zero.
But anyway, in the last picture you can see that I have a bit of shade to keep the RD a little cooler between that and my body and seat bag blocking the rear facing sensor what is the likelihood that it could even pick up the laser shot.
Thanks for the help

None of my remotes will set off the RD, unless there is a trick to it, I turned off the gps and tried different sensitivity settings.

Try every button on each remote. Some remotes/buttons are more apt to trigger a laser alert than another. Also, put the remote about 6 inches from the receiving end of the RD. Try further back if it doesn't alert (up to 2 feet or so). Once you find a way to get it to alert consistently (make sure it doesn't autolock on you), go to the original location and use the remote to unlock it.
