LI rear vs. zr4 laser shifter rear
ok what i dont understand is LI sells two units for the rear. however the zr4 comes with 2 units for the front and 1 for the rear. what i dont understand is, how come escort sells their package with 1 for the rear and the more powerful LI needs 2? if the single unit in the rear isnt enough then i dont get why escort is giving people false hope thinking the 1 unit is enough?

All three units on the rear (or front) isn't enough, so really, the entire system is false hope.
Yeah, that's just the way Escort does business.

The rear shifter on the ZR4 is much bigger then the 2 front, about the size of the 2 front shifters put together. Not that it does any better but that's the way it was designed, also designed to fit under/over the license plate.
LI suggests the 2 rear because it is actually better to have wider coverage than just one larg shifter like the ZR4's.
In the end the LI with there 2 head rear/front design not only gives more flexible coverage but it is more likely to jam than the ZR4's under most circumstances. Best set up is 3 front and 3 rear.
Re: LI rear vs. zr4 laser shifter rear
From what I've heard the ZR4 rear shifter is next to useless, it can't jam a penlight, much less a real lidar gun. :) That's probably because it's a different design (slimmer) than the front heads, so its optical properties aren't optimal, as well as the fact that it functions as a single head, not as 2. It's only wider so that it can be fit to the license plate screws. Mount a single LI head centered over your rear license plate and see how many PTs you get with that setup as well.
LI heads are not only more effective, but with 2 small ones you can put them in more optimal locations in the rear than you can with the single large ZR4 head.

I say me and Eric from tx would disagree with the front ...hes got thousands of dollars in saves...
And I have also I agree they aren't the best they work doable on some cars front that is

It is somewhat useful. I can get JFG with the rear shifter using the PL3 and TruSpeed if I aim directly at the rear sensor. Move the aim a tad bit gave PT.
same here
Re: LI rear vs. zr4 laser shifter rear
Don't under estimate the impact of the rear reflectors on a car. These are the PERFECT dream targets for any LIDAR gun, a single center head garantees easy PT's at close(r) distances. A dual head LI is the only logical choice for an effective defense.
At longer ranges (from the back) raw jamming power becomes more important because of the highly retro-reflecting rear reflectors, again the high power LI would be my only choice.
