RX65 Refurb is here today!

I could not wait to get home after work today and pick up my RX from the mail! The shipping was fast, I ordered it on Wednesday. On the way home my 8500x50 started another self cal test, but it still alerts to all bands (except laser) in plenty of time. I can't wait to program my RX and start testing it out. According to the Beltronics web site, here in Texas (Austin) we have over 189 confirmed speed traps making us number 2 in the country. Houston, which I travel to a lot is number 1, so I have plenty of oppotunities to find out if I wasted my money or not. I placed my x50 high by the rvm with X and POP off, and on Expert mode. Any suggestions for settings and unit placement for my RX from you guys will be greatly appriciated!

Same mounting location (peeking just under the tint band), X and POP off and Ka USA mode.

I prefer Tech mode which displays the actual frequency since you will get the occasional 33.6 and 35.4 false from other detectors when running in USA mode.

Thanks man! I'll try out the Tech mode too, but it will take some getting used to.

I think you'll really like it. When in USA mode it'll outshine your x50 easily. The S7 rocks on K band as well.

Back from work. Got a confirmed 1.8 mile I/O K hit from local LEO on my way home. Love it already! I especially like how loud the RX is compared to my x50. Now I can actually listen to music at a decent volume instead of just loud enough to hear any alerts. My settings are just like nine_c1 described with voice on till I get used to the tone alerts. Looking forward to doing more testing.

Awesome, don't forget to use a rabbit whenever you can they detect radar not police.

RX 65 is one heck of a unit and a great bargain. Let us know how it turns out for you.
