Palisades Parkway
Hey all,
I'll be going up to Bear Mountain in a few weeks and plan on taking the Palisades Pkwy. I hear troopers are big on Ka I/O on that particular road. Could anyone share their experiences on the Palisades? Is their anything I should look out for?
Thanks

Re: Palisades Parkway
I haven't been there in a while but they are out there. Going north one time, I got hit with laser many years ago with my passport 5000. I was doing the speed limit because the road at one point was so damn curvy. They do use a lot of KA, I/O also. Good luck

Re: Palisades Parkway
Thanks for the heads up, didn't know they used laser. I'm wondering If I should take a different route up there, hmm

Re: Palisades Parkway
If you take 87, you'll have more rabbits there.

Re: Palisades Parkway
agree. 87 the way to go. you can usually get some good rabbits at 80mph.

Re: Palisades Parkway
True, sounds like a good idea, plus 87 seems to be a less curvy road as well, more open too. Thanks everyone!

Re: Palisades Parkway
I have commuted using the PIP from the Bear Mountain traffic circle to exit 9. for 24 years. Unless you plan on doing 80+, I think you'll see them as they don't bother to conceal themselves very well. They still get enough customers flying past them when they are in PLAIN VIEW.

Re: Palisades Parkway
Like I tell everyone that i know, if you are planning to take a trip anywhere up state the best Highway to take is I 87. The highway it big enough to see and keep and eye out, there are plenty of rabbits to follow (but I have a bad habit of being a rabbit since I have a V1 and a Bel STI -R Plus).

Re: Palisades Parkway
I went to college up there (West Point). We'd loose a few guys every year or so for going too fast on the Parkway. It's curvy and you can lose control easily. So if you take the Parkway, be careful. Also, deer abound.
