Heads up for Florida drivers
FDOT officers becoming FHP troopers - NBC-2.com WBBH News for Fort Myers, Cape Coral & Naples, Florida
The FDOT is merging with the FHP. They will still be using their white cruisers, and their FDOT uniforms. I am sure some interesting traps will follow.
Re: Heads up for Florida drivers
thanks.. good to know I guess. But I've used caution from FDOT cruisers the same way I do for FHP anyway. I know they've ran 35.5 Ka plenty of times.

"The move will save taxpayers more than a million dollars a year."

Unless you were a commercial vehicle in the past, they wouldn't bother you. I never came across 35.5 by FDOT, only K band, and very rare at that. I didn't believe they had jurisdiction in the past to actually pull over non-commercial vehicles, or they never bothered. I can't remember seeing them having non-commercial pulled over in the past either.

You're probably right, I've seen mostly semi's pulled over
Re: Heads up for Florida drivers
Thanks for the tip. I was never sure if they could bother a non commercial motorist, so I always behave as if they are FHP when I come across them. I hope their tactics don't change, as I only ever see them running CO Ka.
I guess the state is hoping they will create more revenue this way.
Re: Heads up for Florida drivers
I've seen them running 34.7 quite often around the orlando area
