NEW Whistler xtr-338 Has TFSR (Traffic Flow Sensor Rejection), but ...
How does this unit stack up vs. the 690se+ , what kind of range would I be losing>?
Is it half , 3/4 the distance. All that's around me is Ka and laser.
After speaking with tech support from Whistler today, they claim the 690se series is better but NOT night and day. So I would guess it may be close?
Mike
PS: very tough to find information on this new unit. Which shocks me why it would not be on the Whistler website yet , as it is a huge step forward with the TFSR.
Here is the manual http://www.whistlergroup.com/manuals/xtr/xtr338man.pdf

TFSR is a new feature for Whistler. Lets just say drones are not the only thing it can silence. ;) ...and I'm not talking about leos.

I have no clue what your talking about?
Re: NEW Whistler xtr-338 Has TFSR (Traffic Flow Sensor Rejection), but ...
TFSR rejects traffic flow sensors and the radar based lane change assistants/Blind spot detection systems used in many newer automobiles. Currently Audi, BMW, and VW are using an FMCW K band system manufactured by Hella. Other automanufacturers are following suit and it is going to get ugly with all that K band spraying the highways. I run across vehicles with these systems a few times a week bit others may encounter them much more often.

Ahh I see.
And Im sure very soon all door and every other radar source will be KA , just making it very tough for us to detect the real threats.
Thanks Mike for the update. What are your opinions on the unit xtr-338, would it be ok for my wifes car? Its the only one with the TFSR?

If Ka and laser are your primary threats, you may want to hold out for an SE model and consider a jammer if the LEO's truly know how to use it.
What are your wifes driving habits?
