It's one of my preferred detectors and my favorite of the "Max" series of detectors. In some ways it reminds me of the RX65 in some ways, which is one of my all-time favorites.
Expect more good things to come from the Beltronics brand.

Was thinking of buying one, and selling my 9500ix.. But im hard pressed to see if this or a max is any better... Friend told me to just put my new RX-65 S7 in window and forget the new stuff untill escort ACTUALLY does a improvment..with their units..

I would respectfully disagree. The newer units have more effective filtering (ie; TSR), to filtering out the K-band lane departure and other collision avoidance systems that you are going to encounter making the "older" detectors basically hard to live with. Trust me on this one.
