Although I am not a big critic of AntiLaser performance, I am disinterested in this revision namming scheme, personally I think it is nothing but BS and perhaps to seperate itself from GOL testing and playing mind games with the consumers that the next revision is better... I seriously doubt one is different then the other, what the hell could they change? But certainly changing product revisions every month is a bit ridiculous when the current one works (mind you better have two head units). Other then that they best have some significant changes made.
The new AL8 is not the dual diode that we tested.
The AL8 is improved AL7, improvements like smaller
power consumption, improved laser eye safety, wider temperature range (-25C
to +70C)...
I dont think he has a date of when they are going to release a dual diode its still in development. They are calling it as of now the AL8XTwin laser.
I know this because I'm in the process of ordering a dual unit from AL and when Marko told me I was getting an 8.3 I thought it would be a twin diode like our prototype. But its just minor stuff as quoted above.
Anti-Laser AL8 Laser Jammer.
Apr 11, 2006 - NIWOT, CO - The Anti-Laser AL8 is a new laser jammer produced in Europe using a solid state laser diode. It has been tested in the USa by the Guys of Lidar with supporting video showing its capability at jamming all major laser guns used in the USA and Europe.
The AL8 laser module is designed with a single laser diode and laser detector. Test results prove a superb laser jamming performance on all laser guns. Video test results by the Laser Guys
The AL8 interface permits two laser jammer modules to be plugged in via telephone jack plus the alert cable shown below. The interface is hardwired into the fuse box with 12Vdc and ground.
The AL8 Alert cable integrates a power on switch, alert buzzer, alert LED and a ground lead.

LIDAR, Light Detection And Ranging. The LIDAR unit, or Laser Gun, emits a narrow laser beam towards the target, the vehicle. The laser beam is at a typical 904nm and is invisible to the eye. The laser beam pulse train looks like a picket fence with white pulses and dark shades between each white pulse. There are usually 40 or more laser pulses in the pulse train as it travels down the highway. The laser beam pulses strike the vehicle and a portion of the laser beam reflects back to the laser gun. The time that passes from the emission to the reception of the laser beam is measured in the Laser Gun, which then determines the distance to the target. Speed is then computed from the distance measurements.
The most popular LIDARs in Europe are: LTI Marksman 20-20, LTI Ultralyte, Kustom Pro laser III and the Jenoptik LaserPatrol (TraffiPatrol). Of these three guns, the Kustom Pro III is easy to jam.
In the industry today, there are now 3 laser jammers produced with solid state laser diodes: Anti-Laser AL8, Lidatek LE30 and Laser Blinder. Laser Blinder is produced in New Zealand and why it copies the name of Blinder is beyond me. Blinder is a trademarked name in Denmark, the Blinder Laser Jammer. Of these three products, the AL8 appears to be the most effective, although it has not officially been tested by Speed Measurement Labs as yet.
The AL8 laser jammer includes an audio visual and processor circuit. The audio-visual circuit includes an alert buzzer and two LED diodes (green and red), a power switch. The processor circuit is the centre of the AntiLaser, receiving signals from the detector circuit. It identifies the type of Laser gun targeting the vehicle, and sends the laser diode transmitter a special sequence of laser impulses for that specific laser gun.
The Guys of Lidar have conducted a thorough test of this product and the AL6 proved to jam at nearly 100% effectiveness. It does not appear to have heat problems, as with the Lidatek LE30. It is designed with water proof capabilities and the lens does not permit water condensation as with the Laser Blinder.
This may a product to test by Tiger Lily Products this June at the Speed Measurement Labs test in El Paso, Texas.

Any improvements over the AL7 in terms of jamming performance?
The only thing I have heard is happya$$ mentioned they are addressing the few random punch throughs with the prolaser III at 35 feet.
If you have suggestions I would not hesitate to email them. They usually get back within 24 hours and are very open to there users!
Improved eye safety you say. Are they still using the same 75W diode or do you not know. Glad you're acquiring an anti-laser Staton.Quote:
