Wow, it's dead here........
Anywho, just read a bit on the rather new ZX14R, what a monster. It's easy to think that for a big, 200hp bike out of a crate to do under 10 second 1/4 miles, one after the other, outstanding. I think Suzuki have some work to do to regain the top spot now :wink:

I'm more interested in how the new Connie shapes up with the ZX14s guts.
At this point how much more power can you put into a street machine and still make it rideable in the real world.
My friend who is what most would call a 'speed demon'... he is good at making anything go fast.
He got on another friends ZX-14R and he ran a 9.95 1/4mile on the stock bike, and that was in less then 5 passes... then they kicked him off the track for going to fast (sub 10.00) without a full-riding suit. :lol:
I've only seen on in person myself (outside of the dealer)... it was a Blue one with a ton of upgrades... what an animal.
I must agree with Spanky how much more insane will the bikes get? The 1K class of sportbikes is unreal... its because the 4 major Japanese manufacturers are all trying to push their bikes into the racing scenes, and therefore they get closer and closer to full-racing tackle on their road-going bikes... just to abide by Homoglation rules.

ZX-14 is far from being a race bike, unless it's just drag racing. Going in a straight line, ya it's a monster...but throw in a turn and the bike gives up the ghost. Hate to say it but the Hayabusa is still the top dog. Doesn't matter how much more power or how better the numbers are on a dyno...doesn't mean nothing if it can't produce on the streets.

4th: Both the Hayabusa and the ZX-14R are Sport Touring bikes (or) Hyper-bikes, and both are (relatively) bad in the corners compared to the Litre bikes these days (The Superbikes), and the 600cc Supersports.
Not to mention all of the 1000cc Superbikes (Kawi, Yami, Suzuki, Honda), put out near identical horsepower numbers as the Hayabusa, but weigh much less. The Hayabusa is outdated... and it is BY NO MEANS a race-bike, leave that to the Superbikes. So as far as 'putting it down to the streets', the Hayabusa is lacking in nearly every way Vs. the Current Generation Litre Bikes.
I respect your opinion, but its really obvious your a Hayabusa (or Suzuki lover) in general... there is no reason to come on here and just spurt off random comments, because no one before you said anything about the 14R as a true race-bike... just that its the true king of 'speed', and muscle... which by the numbers it is. :wink:
The one key thing you fail to mention... its all about the rider.
Suzuki's GSX-R1300 is old news now and is 2nd behind the new ZX-14R, fact like it or not gentalmen. This happened as soon as the big Kwaka hit the showroom floors and, i'm sure, was no real surprise to the Hamamatsu stable.
What will it take to regain the 'Top Dog' sports tourer throne, who knows exactly. May be a sub 200kg wet diet, 200 RWHP (i wish), more electronically advance gadgets, comfort, it's all or anything.
All i can say is the race to get these awfully large and fast bikes to 299kmh as quick as possible, is a possibility. Although, we all must agree this objective has firmly reignited the four manufacturers interest and consumers attention.
How much harder do you have to hit an ant with a sledge hammer before you kill it, pretty hard me thinks :wink:

The thing that is really holding bike power back is tires. if you have poor traction and your going 150+mph around a turn your going to die.
