Just bought a V1, former 9500i user..!

Excited! I just purchased my friends V1 that is only around 2 months old...

I live in the metropolitan area, so i'm hoping the falses won't bother me too much. There really is like a CVS / Walmart / Rite-aid at about every corner..

I got tired of not knowing where to look for the 'alarms'. My windows are tinted 5% (limo, illegal) as well so that's another plus on avoiding tickets. If the cop is travelling in the opposite direction chances are he won't do a u-turn to pull me over.. but if he's next to me, well, some have nothing better to do and i'd really like to avoid the $125 ticket for no sense.

The lockout feature was okay, I didn't have the autolearn so I can't comment on that. It almost got to the point where I wasn't sure if the K band was a LEO or a CVS, so I would just automatically reflex lock it out, and some cases it really was a LEO. Now, I hope i'll be able to tell a bit easier.

I noticed a buddy of mine with a 9500ci doing the very same thing. Everytime it alerted to K-band, he reached up and hit the lock-out button, without even thinking about it. He said since we were on the freeway, he only had to worry about Ka band. He about crapped his pants when I told him that the sheriff's department ran K-band.

The Strength Display paired with the Bogey Counter and Arrows make it easy to determine what's a 'false' and what's not.

i'm going to turn off pop / x.. i wish i could turn off k but a lot of cops still use it :( the falses will be annoying but it's a small price to pay for knowing where to look..

today i had a few instances where there was an K band here and there.. was twisting and turning my neck trying to find out WHERE the hell it was coming from.. i knew it wasn't a false because it was on my route to work and i know where the falses are... couldn't find it for the life of me about 3 times..

this is why i wantt he V1.

OP:

Make sure X-band isn't used in you area and then turn that off as well as the POP.

If K-band isn't used much, you can turn that off as well, but do the research on what the locals use first.

The instant I hear that NY state outlaws the RLCs and SCs, my 9500ix will be replaced with a V1.

You just did the worse thing by switching to the V1. Once you have arrows, you will never use another detector. They dont say V1 zombie for no reason.
