Anyone here return your V1 for a 9500ix?
So I have a couple of days to decide if I should return my V1.
I really love the arrows and bogey counter but I am really like the feature of the autolock and GPS of the 9500ix. I heard that the autolock is faulty and there is a slight delay on the 9500 but I don't mind taking that risk, besides that can be easily fixed with a firmware update in the future. Not really interested in the Redline since I would think that it will be similar to the V1 but without the arrows, performance wise. Besides, don't really need its stealth feature.
I programmed my V1 by turning off X and Pop, to add to the K automute settings. The way it is chatty really does not bother me since I installed a separate mute button that is really accessible.
Owning both is not really an option since I cannot afford both. So far, I love the performance of the V1 especially on the highways. I'm worried that I would be lost not knowing if the threat is in front or behind me...
Now to my main concern, has anyone have a similar experience here? Returning the V1 to get the 9500ix instead that is. Did you guys regret it? Did you miss the arrows and bogey counter?
Thank you in advance for your opinions.

I'm not sure if this counts or not, but my brother used my V1 for a couple of weeks to test it out and was happy to get back to his 9500ix. He found that he preferred quiet over arrows and he said that the sensitivity difference was barely noticeable.

I actually did the opposite, sold my 9500ix for a V1, no regrets.

Thanks for sharing. What major differences did you see? Any specifics?

Thanks. So basically, if he feels that there is a real threat, he just slows down without knowing where it is actually?
Also, please confirm that the 9500ix does not have a rear antenna for laser or radar bands.

Not really. With a little experience, it becomes pretty easy to figure out where the LEO is. Even without the arrows, I usually know within 5 seconds whether the LEO is in front of me or behind me. It's not that hard. The times when it sometimes gets confusing is when the LEO is travelling the same direction as I am.

The 9500ix does have a rear laser sensor, but it's 100% useless, just like the rear laser sensor on every other RD, including the V1. The 9500ix does not have a rear radar antenna, but is very good at detecting radar threats that originate from the rear, with its forward facing antenna. I'd put its rear range at about 60% of the V1's on average.

I was a V1 user for years, but when I got my IX the V1 was religated to the second car. I can't say I see much difference in range between my V1 and my IX, the afformentioned tunnel vision is there. I find the only thing I liked better on my V1 is the arrows. One warning though, after having the IX it's about 6 months later and you end up buying a 9500ci to have the quite and the longest range detector.

I'm doing just the opposite. Back in March, I was originally going to sell my 8500X50 for a Valentine 1, but went with the 9500i at Best Buy because it was on sale. I now wish I had gone with the V1. I'm in the process of getting a V1 right now

There is a difference between the two and while it isn't much, it's more than barely noticeable. In my view the V1 has about 15% better 34.7 detection and 15-20% better detection on K band. I've found that they are close on 35.5.

I haven't returned either but I have put thousands on miles on both. I like my 9500ix for Spec Mode and GPS features and my V1 for arrows and raw sensitivity; it's incredible. I am about 50/50 between the two.
Re: Anyone here return your V1 for a 9500ix?
I think it would really depend on the driving environment if you live in Chicago with 1000 RLC's and falses every mile 9500ix would be the way to go. But if you live in BFE with hardly and falses and no RLC the V1 would be the way to go.

I have both a V1 and a 9500ci. TrueLock and AutoLearn are nice, but if I had to pick one, I'd have to go with the V1. Once you get used to having the arrows, you won't want to do without them.
