escorts have been proven to not pick up QT well, plenty of videos/tests abound :)
the redline is a expensive high end detector, if it's not detecting radar, why spend 500$?
these are very good gripes with a product, when your paying 1600$ for a 9500ci, and it can't pickup short radar bursts, something is wrong
or if your paying 500$ for a redline, and it randomly stops detecting radar, there is a problem, be it a new product or not, it shouldn't happen

X2 look at ELVATO's videos and GOL's test results. Also, I think you are getting Instant On and Quick Trigger mixed up. They are not the same thing. I hate to say it but the bashing will probably continue until Escort admits that there is a problem with their RDs against QT and they fix the problem. Escort's current view on this is that speeding tickets can't be issued via QT and that there is nothing wrong :rolleyes:

Here is the problem: You haven't been around long enough. Get some seat-time in the forum.
Get a few Escort Hypes and subsequent Fails under your belt, become a Beta-Tester of theirs, and then come back and tell us what you think.
You have no idea what bashing Escort is, I was (when Escort did their job) one of the biggest supporters of the company on the site, when it was really V1-zombie-land: Check wars between BV and I...
It has actually calmed down if anything (there may be more zombies now... but not of the class [I won't elaborate there] that there used to be).
The problems with Escort now:
-Their prices are so exorbitant now, that they bring on much criticism themselves: A $1600 remote-mount should never, and I mean NEVER be beat by a $400 dash-mount. Before your time, the V1 was hammered (by me among others) as being overpriced... 25% more then its competition (minimum), now that Escort has done this... they better bring LOTS to the table... which isn't what they have done as far as: RADAR DETECTION goes... which is why we buy RD's
-They lie. Plain and simple. They say anything for a sale... this cannot be even tallied how many times they have done this. To forum members directly, in advertising etc.
-They use us as Beta-Testers, then deny, deny, deny until it becomes a problem for them... for which they fix it.
-They basically don't listen to us when WE ARE the experts:

Yamaha gives the bike to Valentino Rossi to use in his races. Its doubtful that he can design and build the bike to the specs that they give him, nay I would guarantee it. BUT NONE of them could ride the bike like Rossi can, thus when he comes off the track and tells them what is right and wrong with the bike... they listen and they fix it, because there isn't one of them that is the expert that he is when it comes to using the technology that Yami gives to him.
Thus we are the Valentino Rossi's of the RD industry, and Escort is the Yamaha... they make something that we can't, but they do not use it like we can. We are the experts and they should listen.
(Sorry Yami, don't want to give you a bad name... though you did over-hype the R6 rev limits didn't you?)

When I was just a lurker on this forum, and for quite some time after I joined, I too was an Escort fan. Don't get me wrong, I love my RDs but lately Escort is spending too much time on marketing instead of product development and that's why I'm pretty sure my next RD will not be an Escort. Sending out clones of the same M4 over and over again is not product development. I like the M3 platform, but I can't justify the price for myself.

I agree with opening post.
Escort can charge what ever they want for a 9500CI, and I seriously considered one even at $1600 because of what it offers.
9500CI has way more features than a V1. Stealth, GPS, Remote, Jamming, Voice, Frequency display, and consistently better performence on 35.5 Ka C/O, I/O but not QT. If those features are not worth it to you, you can't just say it's "over priced". If it was that over priced it wouldn't sell at all. To some customers that would like a V1, it is over priced, but does not that make a blanket "over priced" product.
Some say a 9500ix is over priced, I don't think it is, and I just sent my V1 back for a 2nd 9500ix. V1 falses too much for me. Took me a full month to realize it.
I think the whole QT thing is up for debate and if it is found to be a serious issue I believe escort will address it.

If i had the money i also would have a CI, but i am not at all impressed with the IX. I have seen some results on it and it is not much better than the X50 or the refurb 8500. The V1 blows its doors off.
