St.Clair Shores MI un-marked car

I was on I 94 in St.Clair Shores MI the other day and I saw a new un-marked car.
It was a 2010 all black Mustang GT even the windows were blacked out so much you could not see in.
He had some one pulled over that's the only way you could tell he was a cop.
Lights in the rear window, strobes mounted in the tail lights and the front blinked and sparkled like a Christmas tree. All mounted behind the grill, some on the dash and strobes mounted in the head lights.
The last time I remember this city using a Mustang was in the late 80's and early 90's.
The funny thing is St.Clair shores does not have a lot of freeway to patrol (about 4 miles) so why the Mustang?

I wish I had a camera to take a picture.

My guess would be a State Patrol cruiser.

Nope a city cop.

Harper Woods has one as well.

Damn that's a pain in the ass to keep track of that kind of unmarked car. I would think a GPS tracking chip might be in order here.

I'm new to this forum but I see you live close to me (Grosse Pointe), what type of Radar do they use around here, will an Escort 8500 X50 be sufficent?

You should be fine.
I 94 between 8 Mile and I 75 have a few x band falses but my 9500 IX locked them out for me so I can't tell you where.
You know already about the cops in the Points and Harper Woods.
Detroit will leave you alone on the freeway but the State boys will get you.
North of there Roseville and St.Clair Shores are pricks, but I'm sure you know that.

Would it be safe to just get rid of X-Band all together, is it even used around here anymore?

I have ran into some depts that still use x band.
