Bryce,
To find out your current version on the bel pro rx65 press and hold the city/chg/power buttons all at the same time, but be quick because it only displays it for about 2-3 seconds and also all of your settings get reset to factory settings which means you will have to reset them back to what you had manually before that. As far as having it upgraded the current version (as of 5-8-2006) is version 6.1 and if your detector is still under warranty just call call or visit bell's website and follow the current procedures. As far as I know I think you just send it back to them with proof of purchase and your warranty if extended but please check or call before you do that.
Does anyone know the difference between version 2.9 and 6.1? And what is up with the number ordering of the versions?
Alright. First the 2.9 is newer then the 4.5. This is because the 2.9 uses the M4 antenna and the 4.5 uses the older one. Nothing wrong with that it is just Bel went to the M4 antenna because it was cheaper for them to manufacture. The reason for the 6.1 is to eliminate the problem with ramp up on alert. If yours works fine when heading towards a radar source then you do not need the upgrade. There is no more performance with the 6.1. It is strickly software updates. Bel says they change the version for their own records in case it comes back in for serviceQuote:

The issues with the older RX65's including mine is it will never go to a full alert unless hit with instant on or laser.
You can be headed straight for the radar source aimed at you and it will go to 6/10 and then stop alerting before you pass the source. Then once you do pass the source the 65 will start alerting again. Like I said if yours doesn't have this issue don't worry about the new version
Thanks for the clarification.
Heck, I wish that my 895 did better on powerup when there was a source present.Quote:

i dont think anything is wrong? it seems to ramp up nicely and ive already sent to bel and had the version 4.5 installed and its fine, but i still have 2 months on warranty and this powers my p[905 on my blazer. can anyone tell me if worth sending to 6.1? first i heard if it tonight. dr
If you have the 4.5 version you cannot upgrade to the 6.1. The reason is because the 4.5 version runs on the old antenna and the 6.1 version runs on the newer M4 antenna. When the new M4 antenna was implaces the version was 2.9. This version is more recent then the 4.5. Don't worry about the upgrade if your RD works fine. Mine is the 4.5 and have had 0 problemsQuote:
