geez,,,how much will your tint cost???? 600-700 bucks?? id go window tint and not speed for a bit ;)
400 bucks..... its ceramic
geez dude...why dont you just get a metallic tint?? whats so good about ceramic?
how about both, you find some cheap tints for $150 bucks or less and get the AL heads. dont spend over that much on tints seriously its not even worth it!Quote:

Man this is a hard one for me because we live in pretty much the same area. It is HOT thats for sure. I am going to have to say I would choose the AL7 Duals. I know how much laser is out there and it is only a matter of time before you get hit. I have been hit 2 times in the past 2 weeks and I have not even driven that much. But, if you know you don't see a lot of laser then I would just say get the tint.
Dual AL's with cheap tint!
Well for me I would ask, do you plan on buying the other one later? If so then you should get the jammer now, since it has the ability to pay off more over time, and then get the tint when you save up some more money. Of course, if you really only want to get one in the near future then you'll have to decide.
huper optik is the best
i was going to get it for the passat but i got something else
i say go for the tint
there seems to be so much drama in the laser jammer world... wait for it to calm down
Tough choice..... :?
I would have to agree hereQuote:

Wont metallic tint screw with my navigation system and my radar reception?
Thosands of cars on the road with tint, cheap tint at that, and certainly no issues with navigational equipment, as for RD, your main concern is the front, so no worries there, as far as the effects of the tint on the back window, sure it is not advisable, but it should not make that big of a difference if ANY measurable difference at that unless you have a V1, then you may have some bigger issues.Quote:

NO, i run 2 GPs units in my car incl Navigation and I have NEVER had a problem!
i would stay away from metalic
and your theory behind that is??Quote:

everyone i have asked said not to use it, interfere with radio, radar/laser detection(vr website)
and its not as good as ...(huper optiks ceramic?) in deflecting heat
and if you ask around.... the best tint is not going to be metalic
I heard the titanium stuff was affecting cars radios that had the antenna integrated into the car/glass.

So you can blow that theory out of the window! Its proof from personal experiance.

Regardless, if your tint is metallic or ceramic, your car electronics are eletrically grounded. The sole pupose of ceramic tint is for heat diffusion. Don't buy anything (comercial) made of titanium. Titanium is the buzz word of the day.
The uses for Ti are its strength to weight ratio and low corrosion. And yes Titanium corrodes. Ceramic on the other hand has no corrosion value, but has less flex. It has great heat dispursion, and high rigidity. All of this is great for aircraft manufacturing, and of little importance to window tint.
In addition, any tint applied to a glass surface will disperse and defract a light source. What this means is that when a laser is fired at your car, the tinted surfaces will defract the beam, thereby slowing the reaction time of your detector.
So, mount your R/L detector below your tinted windshield visor.
P.S. Go with a bronze tint. Color also plays a factor.
here is some pics of the metallic tints i use, as you can see it has a nice reflection and you cant see in at all...really keeps the car cooler in summer.

Pro-Tint?

Yeah, Pro-Tint in Dallas quoted me $400 out the door
I hit up a place called Alta Mere in North Richland Hills they said 499 on my 2dr coupe but was on sale for 399, with additional 75 to remove my bubbly and fading dealer tint.
BTW, I read on TX DPS's website that the legal limit for my coupe's front 2 windows is 25%VLT, and on the same place it says you can have no less than 20% at stste inspection or else you fail, but Alta Mere says they can only do upto 30% on those windows whats the deal????
Earmark will do Pinnacle F! Ceramic for $400. Its a subsidiary of the llumar stuff and has a pretty good warranty.
I need something darker than 40 though.
Huper comes in 30.
Those tints are Premium 20% I was going to go 10% but it looks like a mkirror...
These tints get a nice bronze colour in the right light...i love em.
I would not suggest anything under 30%... at that point you just asking to be looked at by a cop!
that is one thing that DPS likes to waste time on!
oh and if you do get anything lower than that... keep you paper work in the car so if he tries to write you a ticket by saying they are too dark then just show them the paper work!
yeah on the lumina i have legal limit (30%?) it front and darkest (limo 5%) in the back
with the passay though i might go legal limit all around.
one of my friends said dont touch the passat, hit thinks tint is "ghetto" coz he sees all these pimped out cars with dark tint... what do yall think?
i think tint is probably one of the best things you could do to a car
