I would like to get my V1 into the mail today for the 3.826 upgrade.
Do they require an RMA?
Also, is this the correct return address for upgrades?

Thanks guys.
I believe that the v1 website has detailed instructions on returns.

Do everything but the 45 dollars, just send it in and request the upgrade to 3.826.Quote:

If you are having issues with the V1, such as ghosting or "J" outs of real radar, be sure and include that in your letter. That will increase your chances of getting an upgrade free of charge. Just to be on the safe side.

He should get 3.826 unless he wants to pay $75 for no reason and get 3.852. :wink:Quote:

No, 3.826 --> 3.851 or 3.852 = $75 plus shipping. There was a hardware change for "digital temperature compensation" that does not affect performance.Quote:

Of course, we always try to improve the V1 with every change we make, but this one is focused on making the manufacturing process easier. The user-oriented improvements are: a very minor increase in sensitivity, small improvements in false signal rejection, and a minor increase in Euro-mode frequency coverage for Ka band.
Thanks for clarification, Pete!"

That's why I wanted someone to send a 3.851 unit to Michael B to have him test that. He is the only one who can verify it.Quote:

Looks like you and me are the only ones willing to send our unit to Michael B to have the 3.851 / 3.852 tested but neither one of us has one. :lol:Quote:

I think my guess is the same as yours, 3.852 fixed the "E" message but VR is not going to tell us that because they don't want every unit back every time that there is a slight change.
Especially no cost software changes.
After using and sending back a 3.818, 1 1/2 years ago and reading about all the continued problems with constant new versions I won't even consider upgrading until all the bugs are worked out with a potential 1.9 version.
I wonder how often VR will let a person buy a unit then return it without a restocking charge?
Possibly more lenient with refurb's?
You would think that it would be OK for me to take another test drive but I must wait for another vacation trip in the fall.
The way firmware's are coming out I am sure there will be 3.853 by then.
I have bought and returned two and they told me the next time there would be a restocking fee. It has been quite a while but I think it was 10%.Quote:
