and i just ordered a x50. i guess i will have to get this one for my other car.
My co-worker in the next cube has offered to buy my SR7 off me for $300. I paid $900 for that two years ago and I got a steal! He's got an 05 Mustang GT and no RD for a year.
I sure wish the 9500 had a remote display. But I love this GPS false detector technology.
I wonder how much your average LEO would mind if you showed him your locked speed on the Escort if it differed from his speed.
that would be super awsome, so let me get this straight when you get hit with radar it could in a sense say your true speed?
Yeah... I believe it will display it via GPS, now if and only if one could prove that was more accurate then a police radar gun (ha fat chance in court). :lol:Quote:

The X50 and the STi use the same type of mounts, just the connection on the X50 is really poor. it shakes like an old pair of cougar t1ts.
I'm actually really itching to try this out - but because of my very limited "toys" budget, I think I'm going to sit-tight until the respected hobbyist groups present here take this unit out for an independent test-drive and some good testing.
To me, the GPS "position of interest" marking, especially for falsing, is a huge benefit as my daily travels are nearly all on local surface streets, in the city, where I encounter a lot of falses.
Sure, I've gotten used to them, but it'd be nice to have some peace, too. :)
And definitely, I know that my wife would appreciate the auto audio-volume adjust, as well as the low-speed sensitivity adjustment.
ill bet there will be a pretty big waiting list for rhis one like the STI release, but the thing is that this one will appeal to ALL, not jus t those needing stealth :?
Reading Roy's blog the other day, it said that the new detector will pick up Ku band. Is that to say then that we will be seeing Ku introduced in the US soon? Just my 2 cents...
No.Quote:

There has been no proof of it comming to the US yet but....
IMHO, I believe its worth having the KU alert just in case.
That's cool. Only reason I asked is that I heard that one of the 3 radar gun manufacturers was testing another prototype Ku band gun recently. I just want to make sure that I'll be covered in case the local cops in Kenmore here get it (they seem to LOVE Stalker).
Someone had inquired about pictures. I found this.

Is it just me or does the LED's look dim? I'M going to miss the BLUE
I don't think we will be seeing Ku band here ever. I think it is included just to increase there market share into Europe and Asai.
Ku band is easy to detect like K band, and not hard like Ka, right?

As for Ku band, I dont think it will ever been in the US.
They better have a blue display again. I'm willing to pay that extra $40 or so for the prettiness of it. =]
Why not?Quote:

I'm pretty sure it uses the standard SmartCord used for other BEL/Escort products, but don't quote me on that :wink:Quote:

I love taking my car apart
Its actually nice they use the same cord. There is nothing I hate more than companies changing their damn cords/plugs with every new product.
Ideally, I'd love to see my RD run on a mini-usb connector like my phone and my gps do... but I'm guessing there isn't enough juice available in the USB standard.
OK - WHEN & HOW MUCH??????????????????????
^ You might want to re-read the thread, starting with the very first post. :)Quote:

Sounds like the only real incentive to upgrade to this detector, is for people who drive in false alert rich areas. If the apparent no performance upgrade claims are true, I can't see the other new but relatively small features being enough to sway alot of people who aren't in that boat.
I watched RR's videos on the new Escort 9500i and was quite impressed. Nice features for the false alerts. Will have to see more videos on this one.
PLEASE change the tone alerts Escort because on Roy's recent video the K band tone does NOT ramp up. It sounds like a Bel
I noticed that as well.Quote:
