Put a small led in front of it, although this would kill the idea of the conceal, it would work.
I wish it would go farther dim. I don't like it so bright.
Mike should just put a lock feature on the dimmer, lock it as bright or dim as you please, it wouldnt be too hard.

If you want it dim, you can put a piece of electrical tape over the light sensor.
I think on the V1 that's also where the rear laser sensor is, so maybe only do that if you have a remote display.
I've seen the display flicker in brightness with flashing blinker lights nearby and certain lights in parking garages, I put my finger over the sensor to calm it down.

Why? When its bright out, it gets brighter. When its dark out - it dims slightly so that your entire vehicle isn't filled with a bright red light. I like it.Quote:

Hmm, on the main unit i LOVED it, but when i tried to put my CD behind tinted glass (where the clock used to be) i didnt....overall it still is very noticable when it lights up...those aarows catch your eye for sure
On the main unit it seems brighter at night to me while the CD (Concealed) goes much dimmer. Just my findings :D

The only way to accomplish that is to modify the board. Chances are the light sensor changes resistance, so if you replace it with a resistor of the value of the sensor in bright light. I don't know if anyone has figured out that value elsewhere on this forum.Quote:

The autodim feature is nice, but sometimes I wish there was just another control which the user could utilize to tune the brightness to the level desired. Whether it be all the way bright, to completely dark.
Well what I decided to so is splice the 1st strength LED, so it will be dim, then once it gets an alert it will brighten. Seems to be working good on my bench testing, the main board will be buried in my dash so absolutely no light will be getting to it.
I would have never thought about a "Dark Until Bogey" feature. You come up with some interesting ideas.
On a side note...
Most are like "I want to see GPS, colored LED's, etc.", but there is so much VR can do to make the V1, in its current state, so much more customizable. Options for silent startup, turn off band LED's, turn off strength meter LED's, etc.
Guess I gotta go play with a flashlight, it changes so much I've never noticed the intensity of the light from the V1 change.
x2. I have never noticed any change in the V1 display, as far as intensity goes.

yeah that shouldn't be to hard, bypassing is easy, and an adjustable rheostat would be easy as long as I would know the ohms that it is at the max and min.Quote:
