Or is that "N/A" port in/on the Interface Module a provision for such a later add-on?

As for the display, that's most interesting....looks like they made the next logical leap themselves, as these guys did:

Looks like they have options for disabling 10 Ka frequency segments at your disposal. This is one serious RD coming out.

It is a label created by Escort for pre-production test units. I am pretty sure that the production units will say Beltronics instead.

This just a wild guess, but the N/A port could be for connecting to a laser jammer, or for allowing an authorized Beltronics dealer to test or flash the STi in the field.

it looks to me like the same old sti broken into a dozen different pieces with long cables. i dont see a GPS, rear antenna or any improvements at all.
real unimpressive.
my current stealth STI install is waay better. that front end horn will stick out a mile for any OPP.

Not if you take off your bumper, take off the styrofoam, "dig" a hole in the styrofoam for the horn, then reassemble it with the embedded horn in the bumper :P

I think the best install would be behind your rearview mirror. if you could build a little bracket to hold it, flush with the top. that way if it fails you don't have to rip apart your car.

I was hoping for GPS function too.Besides Ka-narrow modes I don't see much real improvement so far.I'm a bit dissapointed on new STi.
Anyway,time will tell,how good/bad new STi really is.
I hope new STi will be 'bug free'.

The STi is a stealth radar detector - that in itself is impressive. No other radar detector can do that. This is just another way to make it more stealth.

This isn't a new STi - just a variation.

And the Ka narrow is one of the best features Bel/Escort has come out with. :wink:

Take a look at how much better the RX65 performs in USA Mode, which is a Ka Narrow:

Hi guys - for a long time 8)

Have I missed something? I tried to read the STi-R manual back and forth but couldn't find the answer.
What is RDR ??? In settings there is an option
"RDR ON or OFF (default is on)"

STi-R is what we have been waiting for :D

Since the Ka range is so huge, scanning just what is in your area will speed up the scan and you will get alerts sooner - as shown in the GOL test I posted.

Whole band. USA Mode / Accusweep is a Beltronics thing.

Beltronics RX75 and Escort's Passport SR7 are around $1000 - and they don't have all the features of an RX65 or X50...
