Hello all,
I recently sold my Bel RX65 on ebay and bought a V1. It should be arriving today. Any recommendations on programming it for here in NJ? Thanks in advance.

Leave is alone for the first month and learn how it operates.
The only immediate change would be to turn POP off.
turn pop off and leave every band on
where in NJ are u at?
I run mine in logic mode (small L) in the city. I have K band muted for 30 seconds, unmute at 6 dots. rear k muted. Pop off. I drive the highways in A mode. I leave all bands on.
Thanks for the quick replies...I am in south jersey, right outside cape may...I will leave it on factory settings for now until I become more familiar with it. Thanks again!

yea South Jersey!
i drive in nj everyday
A mode- Pop OFF- X ON
(just take pop off basically b/c there are million of folks with crappy RD's in NJ which will give u alot of short bursts of ka band from their crapra's if pop is on )
on the turnpike watch out for laser and X-band (mainly)
on other roads watch out for K and Ka as well, especially local leo's...
basically watch out for everything, NJ leo are pretty good at picking their spots so dont go to fast at night and keep your eyes open during the day
ask my friend who got nailed with instant-on X (during the DAY) in his evo @ 105 mph w/ v1
When you're going that fast they don't need radar to know you're speeding ;)Quote:

evo @ 105! where on the turnpike?
Like people said before all bands on and pop off. Big "L" mode in the towns and routes. "A" mode on the highways. I pass by a lot of state troopers but I usually do not pick up anything. Once in a while I'll get X alerts, but I don't know if they have their radars on, just sleeping, or my detector isnt working. Also for the Big "L" mode I have the K mutes on. Still i get a good amount of falses, but I really cannot complain about the great range on the V1.
If you mute K band, will it still light up the arrow and led light if its behind you though? What if there is a real LEO coming up behind with K band?Quote:

IMO, I might recommend against Big L mode with K automute on in NJ, and even Big L in nj altogether. I've seen a lot of X in NJ especially further south like on route 40, in Big L mode you won't see the X alert until enough LEDs light up, that could set you up for a big surprise. If I can offer my programming advice after you've driven with your v1 for a little while, I personally like little l mode with the k automute, and the muted volume lever just high enough so you can at least hear some kind of alert. I like to at least see my alerts, I don't necessarily have to hear them right off.
