What car do you have?
a '05 Mercedes C55 AMG
P.S. I already got a V1
Hard call to make.
That's a pretty good price....
But that vehicle presents some pretty awful hardpoints, too......
I'd let the enforcement hardware/setups that you face be the judge of whether or not to take the offer. Look at the latest GOL tests as a frame-of-reference, and extrapolate/interpolate between the M40 setup used there to your M20, and look hard and assess honestly the typical PT distances per each piece of police LIDAR most often encountered in your travels.
For that price I would buy is as a backup system if nothing else....
yeah. something to that effect. i was looking at a m40 just to have in case
Thanks guys. I did some research the laser guns used in Vancouver and looked at the latest GOL. I dont have a front plate so i compared the headlight tests of M40 to LPP. We have Laser Atlanta, Ultralyte, Marksman, Stalker Lz1, Pro Laser III here in Vancouver, and the results of the Blinder isnt very bad considering it only cost half of the LPP's price. With the aid of V1 i think i can still get some decent protections i want.
Now i'm looking out of my windows searching for FedEx everyday 8)
In the meantime, can you guys give me suggestions on where to mount the heads?

Thanks in advance!
BY the way RW welcome to the board man.....
damn C55, I was really close to buying this same M20, from the MB forums yes? ;) Anyways enjoy it, I have M40's coming... Finding good positioning on my SLK32 seems like it will be difficult...
Haha yes i purchased from THE MB forum . It was quite a good deal
Yea its kinda hard to find a good position for MB cars.. grills are filling up all the gaps on our car.
you need an M40 if you go with Blinder for that vehicle
Is it because of the chrome stripes at the front? I have been considering this issue, however a $215 deal was hard for me to pass. So where can I purchase the extra heads? or would 3 heads work?(reason for this is i searched this forum and found a guy with an extra head.)Quote:

Took me almost 2 hours for the install!! Took me such a long time because its my second time working with car electronics, and the first was V1, which requires less trim removal.
It was a fun install tho. I used 3M mounting tape instead of the mounts came in box because i didn't want to drill holes onto my bumper, and i applied several layers of tapes to make sure it was leveled.
Any comments on the location?

you will need two more heads remember where you heard that first. Your two heads are well positioned but your car needs much more coverageQuote:

Hey man sweet mercedes. You positioned the Blinders perfectly. Nice ride and install. 8)
yes and put them as close to the headlights as possibleQuote:

I had the Blinder before I got the LI on my C55, mounted in the exact same place. Got punch through too often for my comfort especially with the big headlights and the mirror mounted directionals. My car is Pewter with lots of reflectivity so perhaps your Black C55 may fair better! Get another 2 or move those to the grill like the PICS I sent you of my units or get an LI if you run into a bunch of Laser or drive well OTPSL a bunch.

You need to cover the headlights!! The grill pops out real easy! It uses two push-button secure screws and off it comes. Minor cutting of the inside of the rails will be required to get them perfectly level. It cannot be seen from the outside so no problem with aesthetics!

RW C55, Did you cut the mesh bumper inserts at all or just install the heads in front of them?
Thanks- I'll take u guys' suggestions and get two more heads.Quote:

Take off the grills first, you might have to take off the clips that hold the grills at the top two corners of the bumper, because they were on the spot where i mount my heads. Mount your heads, then measure a rectangular shape on your grill, cut the top and two sides of the rectangular shape, but DO NOT CUT the lower side, then bend the grill in. Do this for both heads. Since i used double sided tape to mount my heads, the grill works great supporting the mounts and help them to be leveled. The work looks like an OEM job, my friends didn't even notice this before i told them what i'v done.Quote:

BiGDn2s,
Keep the two M20 heads right where you have them, and put the other two heads in the chrome part of the grill closer to the head lights. Actually the M20 on a black benz is more than enough protection. You do not need a M40 unless you just want JTG performance. Just put laser veil on the head lights and your good to go. Officers normally target the center mass of a vehicle. You have plenty of time to slow down. I would not recommend adding a LI or LPP unless you just want to spend more money. The M20 will be more than enough for your benz. Between the combination of laser Veil and the M20 your good to go.
