I have one of them, but aside from briefly trying it out, I haven't really used it in my car. Also, I have never personally seen aircraft VASCAR being used...Quote:

$550? Christ, avionics are expensive as crap.
That's actually pretty cheap considering. Basic two way (no nav or GS), panel mount, radios go for about three times that new. Compare that to a comparable 10w commercial or amateur two way radio at about $200-300. Gotta love the FAA!!Quote:
