Greetings Valentine lovers and haters alike.

I've taken the Zombie Plunge, and ordered a V1 just this very moment.

An expenditure, I hope, that I will not have doubts about for long.

My Bel, which has never let me down, will go to my girlfriend. Her Bel has let her down, for the second time, and needs to be sent in again for servicing. Once fixed, hers can be my back up.

Surely you all agree -- I just had to get another RD immediately. Last time her Bel went in for servicing, she got 2 or 3 tickets while waiting for it to come back. That's Calgary for you! It is foolish to go detectorless.

2-3 tickets in a week or so? Damn, that's insane.

Welcome, you should love it! The worst I've seen in my whole life was 2 tickets in 3 days and a pull over with no ticket the same day. My buddy lives in Spokane where the snowy roads can get confusing. First ticket- Wrong way up a freeway off ramp, ticket 2- 55 in the 30, pull over- driving without headlights.

Thanks. I'm getting quite excited about it.

Yeah, no kidding about the g/f. It's photo radar around here, for the most part, and they're awful. Her car is quite zippy, and she's forgetful. Two of the tickets were from the same location. I think they might have come from the same day. Or maybe it was a day apart but sheesh!

Getting the V1 is unlike any other detector out there. I have had mine 2-3 weeks and have grown so accustomed to the arrows and the incredible sensitivity.
I just received a replacement RD the 9500I today for my wife's aged 7500S detector.
The detector is a very nice unit with GPS marking which is one nice feature for speed traps and speed cams.
It is not as sensitive as the V1 but a sweet unit that would please most anyone unless you have used the arrows.
On the way home today I had the 9500i in place of the V1 I started to get a few blips on K band off and on then the unit ramped to midway then full scale then back down, in my head I was wondering where the unit was located?
Come to find out he was 3/4of a mile behind and slowly closing in thru traffic shooting various cars in the process I caught him in my rear view mirror changing lanes about 200 yards back.
Once you are used to the visual representation of the V1 it is hard to use another detector.

I've not been disappointed with the sensitivity of my Bel, once I set on Hwy mode for all my driving. But I'm persuaded the V1 is even better, and I don't mind moving up to better sensitivity.

Also, while I've enjoyed fooling around with tech mode for it's frequency read out, really it's not very useful to me.

One thing that really bugs me when I get an alert is not knowing where it is, and craning my head around looking for the source of the radar. I'm persuaded of the value of the arrows for their enhancement of information in this regard. Gotta have those arrows.

I'll look forward to posting my impressions, though, I'm sure you guys all know how it's gonna shape up for me.
