Just got my v1 in the mail.... and its 3.871 :D
i was reading a topic about some got it and some didnt.
but im no a-hole and i dont wanna brag... i had it for less than 2 hours hehe.
i'll keep ya posted on it... im so excited... im going driving be back in 6 hours? maybe more

Odd thing, No "J" alerts yet. Been using 3.864 since Monday. I know, I know, I'm supposed to turn POP off. I'm waiting to at least hear a "J" alert.

yes it is... and i programed it a little... 4 second K band mute and unmute at 4 LED's...
not sure if i should keep that on or off:confused:
You'll probably up the auto mute eventually. I have mine set at 30sec K band automute. That's usually enough, but I'd really prefer the reverse, alerts for the first few seconds full volume then go to mute. That would be way better.
i think i caught a wiff of ghosting:( but im not 100% sure.

sweet, cool cool. In 2 months or maybe less when I order mine I guess I have a good chance @ getting the new one... That is if I order a v1(Probally cuz its cheaper then the ix, I'll put up w/ the noise I'm 60/40 v1/ix)

^ I'm pretty sure I read somehwere when you do a status report via v1 site it really is just saying you have the latest major updates/features not firmware. Like you have Pop with euro bassicly not neccessarilly the latest firmware.

I looked to my right and there it was a bell (990 or 980) detecting the same cop and giving of all sort of Ka crap which in turn “J” my V1. This type or “happening” also confirms to me that running Two detector side by side is a big no go and all post that sate 5ooo miles side by side and now i know. BS you don't. They do inter fear with each other.

I just got back from a 360 mile road trip through the hills of AZ on route 60: 4 saves. The new V1 works like a champ. No ghosting. "J" works fine. I didn't get a chance to compare it to the X50 though; I didn't want to turn of the V1. I did turn on the X50 once to see that the Show Low Police were using 34.7 (Kustom Ka). AZ Highway patrol was using Stalker, (not sure of the frequency but I recognized the antenna). Not one K band encounter, (except Walgreens) I will say this, though, the V1 is way to sensitive for use in town. I may have a use for the Escort after all.

The escort is also $100 more tho. I rather see if I can play around with the Big L for the city and get it to be quite enough & I can turn X completely off here in Florida since its not allowed. I also have never owned a radar detector so I don't know if will mind the falses or not. Something I won't know for sure until its put to the test. Okay, you make a good point. I have toyed with the idea of turning off X as well. I don't think AZ has anything against it, I'm just afraid to run into a cop who won't let go of the 60's. The V1 is a great detector. I just hear so many guys brag about he GPS and I do think that would be nice in town. That is why I thought you might be good with the escort. The V1 3.864 I just received works great. I run in "L" mode as well, sometimes even on the highway. If I turn off X, I will go with the small "L". Your explanation turned me, give the V1 a shot. I think everyone will like it, even the haters if they would get over the zombie idea.Quote:

I don't think that would be possible.The way radars work with bands of beams jumping and reflecting off the bounces create a major problem and will always give that ghosting effect.I do hope that something can be done to minimize these ghosting effects,but think it is a longshot at best.Quote:
