9500CI WHIPS the V1 3.813 on 34.7

My 9500CI abosultely whooped my V1 3.813 on 34.7 Ka. It was not even close! I was shocked at the difference.

I find that the biggest difference in performance between the two RDs is on 34.7Ka.

Who uses 34.7? I'm not really up on all the freqs. and stuff. How much difference in range?

In my area (Plano) everyone uses 34.7 that's why I like spec mode so much instantly know wethers it's a false.

Who uses 34.7? the following Highway Patrols I know of. All these use it exclusively , California,Utah,Wyoming, Kansas,Texas,Missouri,and the following use a mixture of 34.7,35.5 and k. Nebraska,Oklahoma. Colorado uses mostly 35.5, some 34.7 and a few X and k band units still alive. :D

Washington also uses only 34.7Ka. Arizona uses a mixture of both 35.5Ka and 34.7Ka.

CHP use 34.7 almost exclusively as far as radar is concerned.

CHP has an exclusive contract with Applied Concepts, the company that makes the Stalker. So, CHP uses only 34.7Ka and laser.

It is also quite common here in NY. Troopers use it almost exclusively and about 60% of the locals also used 34.7. I would say 95% or more of my encounters are stalker.

x2, Its also this way in CT, and occasionally 35.5 in NY.

Escort was thinking when they make there RD's, if a particular band is used more than any other why not tweak it instead of being the king of something that is allot less likely to encounter.

34.7 is Stalkers I believe. So the Escort whups the V1's butt on that freq. Interesting. Is the difference that really noticeable?

Yes, sometimes it's 15 or 20 seconds. Off axis is not even close.

I agree. I have seen a 20% change in humidity noticeably affect the alert range to K band door openers around town. And keep in mind that Ka band is even more severely affected by atmospheric humidity.

All of my driving in Washington is from Seattle to Portland, on the 5. The times I've brought my 9500ix, all I can remember seeing is 34.7Ka, but since it sounds like you live in Washington, you surely know a lot better than I.
