New here... Few Questions
Hey all, cool site here.
I started googling about criminal speeding and found myself here.
Last thursday I hit a new top speed of 160 on my 08 triumph daytona.
There was a cop waiting to witness it. :(
I got clocked at 147 and almost arested/bike impounded.
I got luckey and got a criminal speeding ticket (I'm in arizona)
Well the same thing happened to me a week ago, got luckey again.
So im 6/8 points on my license (8 = suspended)
I was lookin around and saw that u can veil ur gear (not sure what it is, other than a coating) and put radar jammers on ur front and rear of your bike?
Also i heard radar screamers? Do those wire into your helmet or what?
Are any of these illegal?
I wanna go fast again :(
Thnx
Re: New here... Few Questions
All these things may help, but at 160 I think he may still have a clue you are speeding.
Re: New here... Few Questions
Think about a RD - possibly a V1 and laser jammers - LI Dual - one for the fornt and one for the back.
Just curious how does it feel to be going 160 on a bike:D
I'm not the one to say this but come on dude that's alittle too fast especially on bike. You don't have much protection and it's hard for stop hard on a bike
Re: New here... Few Questions
You're an idiot ..... they wont help you

What the hell are you talking you talking about.... What you suggest???
I'm guessing for him to SLOW down... He is not going to do that
Re: New here... Few Questions
Theres a time and place for speeding and this guys is clueless he's almost at suspension,,, yeah he should slow down
Re: New here... Few Questions
I'm a speeder too..... It's hard for us to slow down. It just doesn't happen overnight. Unless....the license is suspended.....
Re: New here... Few Questions
Yeah I know and the counter measures improve the odds but if I was two ticks away from suspension I'd save it for the track...
Insurance here would be insane with his record and bike
Re: New here... Few Questions
He has learn the hard way too....
Speeding is a game that you lose everything but gain nothing
Re: New here... Few Questions
Trying to prejudge as little as possible... It sounds like you really do need to slow down for a while. I do not know how old you are or what your experience on a bike is but it sounds like you are asking for trouble.... speeding tickets and maybe endangering your life.
When I was in high school, my dad told me if I got in an accident or got a speeding ticket, he would sell my car. I was not allowed to have a radar detector. I hit 100mph almost every single day for the first year I drove. I am not going to lie, I had some close calls. However, I knew where to speed and kept a sharp eye. You are like the kid I worked with... he got arrested his first month of driving for doing 130mph down a road in a big open area with plenty of places for police to hide. I did 130mph the first month I had my license too. I did it on a 3 mile stretch of interstate with a barrier the whole way down and I drove it back and forth once to make sure there were no police around first.
You have to think about where the cops might be and keep a sharp eye. However, none of that nor an RD or laser jammer are going to let you keep your license if you get caught doing 160 again.
Re: New here... Few Questions
^^^ +1. What this guy is doing is asking for trouble.

Is a LI even necessary for a small bike? I'd save some cash, get the Blinder M25 and slow down.
Oh and for a RD we'll need more info on price range and areas in which you drive.

Its not... its just a really loud audible alert system.
Re: New here... Few Questions
Oh alert for the bike. For some reason I thought that was a radar jammer. I knew that. Didn't click in my head for some reason. Fail.
Re: New here... Few Questions
Just to put this speed in perpsective if get caught doing 50+km or 33mph over the limit in Ontario.... my vehicle is seized on the spot and my license is suspended for week ... no trial yet ....they call it street racing here.
...
The fine if convicted is like $5,000.... now fortunatley the courts are letting alot of people off on this charge.
But with this to lose I want the best damn jammer on my bike. I tested the PASS jammer last year and the shooters were able to get a lock on my helmet and my white tshirt.
My resposne...bought a black helmet and jacket moved my LI from car to bike.
Oh yeah ..Ontario government is running an ad in Rider Magazine to ""get inspired .. ... yeah right .
Stay clear of Ontario
Re: New here... Few Questions
You need that third and inpoundment of the bike hopefully it will happen before you kill yourself and somebody else. This site is not for us to aide you in willful endangerment. Caught twice and marked for life. Catch me once shame on you catch me twice shame on me.
Re: New here... Few Questions
So you guys spend all this money on radar detectors and jammers to not go 140+?
To the first reply, goin 160 isnt much different than 130 imo. My bike handled it fine and it felt comfortable.
Now, i have stopped speeding. Its just that i cant speed at all. I wanted to get some type of equipment so that i might be able to avoid any problems with cops.
How do these radar screamers work?

It's not to go 140+ it's to be aware of what on the road. I speed alot but i think pushing 140+ on bike is ouright dangerous...easily kill yourself.
Remember this "LEO has get luck once but you have get lucky all the time" - I think someone mentioned this on this forum.
Re: New here... Few Questions
What bikes do you guys ride?

do us and yourself a favor and go to race track and speed as much as u can in a safe place like there. u will take some track lessons, and after that u good to go. stay away of highways or any public roads. u have the speed addiction , the motorcycle is a sport race bike if u don`t have control over the power that bike has is not for you!
Re: New here... Few Questions
Ask axel about installing countermeasures on a bike. He owns one
Re: New here... Few Questions
I'm in AZ too and I ride all the time. Phoenix-metro just isn't set up to be speeding at those speeds even with the best countermeasures. You may be able to do 80-90 on some freeways and be able to slow down in time, but there's still a lot to watch out for.
PHX Metro:
* Cameras - there's about 100 of them
* Mobile cameras - they use a very low power K-Band shooting laterally across the road
* Ka-band - for the streets, LEOs may use some IO, but for DPS, they often run CO while they sift through the freeway
* K-band - still in use...got hit with it in Mesa the other night
* Laser -some cities really like it
* at 120mph+, people may start calling you in on cell phones
Out of town
* Ka-band - more than once in a near-lonely place I've found a lone DPS car using IO...this is a very hard thing to see ahead of time.
* K-band - it's around some too
If you're really looking to do aircraft speeds...then it's one of two places...either wayyyy out of town..such as the White Mountains (US191) South of Springerville before the tourists hit in a week, or Firebird Raceway on Track Day.
