How much Performance gain I should expect from 9500ix over Whistler SE models(I currently have Whistler PRO 78se & XTR-690SE)??

not much :D You have no idea if your Whistler's are performing the Max yet. If your doubted your Whistlers send them for a check up.
I think you will have good improvement over the whistler models. Just be careful with the autolock feature on the 9500ix.
You should get good range with the ix. However i wouldnt use the lock out feature. I think it is to risky if you do lock out a location be carefully in your lock locations. Anyhow congrats

But only if the LEO is facing me using I/O or C/O. I ran my brothers V1 over a year ago. Mike B and Veil guy have even mentioned that a Whistler can flirt with High end RD's.

I have had 7 and 8 mile detections on my 9500ci in the California deserts. At least I think I have, but there is no way to know for sure what all a LEO is doing that amount of time. Posting the videos of these encounters wouldn't be jaw dropping, they'd be boring. This one is 5 miles and it's boring.Quote:

It would because we're talking GOL testing. GOL use foam to cut down how far the radar transmits if I'm not mistaken. I would be disappointed if in real life I only got 2000ft detection on a straight road.Quote:

I remember that one. What if that was a Whistler? I have detected I/0 4 miles away from a sloppy DPS.

I'd try mounting it to the left of your RVM. Even if you mounted it low, a hardwired detector is so much cleaner of an install and more practical than a cell phone cradle mount. Also the thing with hardwiring is that it is like riding a biking. If you learn how to do it once then you can do it a million times. Most members here recommend hardwiring RD's. If you don't feel comfortable then they can be installed in your car by Bestbuy (or any car electronics store). I'd say you will need 30 minutes to get the main part of the install completed.
Here is what you need:
Add-a-circuit (can be found at Napa Autoparts) Less than $10
Smartcord (Bestbuy) $30
Credit Card to run wiring
Needle nose pliers or anything to fasten add-a-circuit
