Sweet! Looks friggin' factory!
Re: Auxilary Speaker Install
Phenomenal! Not to be greedy, but I sure wish you had some pics of the install process. I'd love to see how you got that thing in there.
I don't think I have ever seen anyone else with a storm door on their garage door before!

^ That's 'cause you live where it's warm. :p
It's not at all uncommon, up here. :)

Yup, very common. We had it in our house in Cleveland too [hence the Go Indians sign]
And what type of pictures do you want? I still have the car apart, so I can take some.

Well, I can't really tell how you have that speaker mounted. It looks like the back side of it is recessed into that pillar cover. Just trying to figure out exactly what you did and how. I have to have speakers for six scanners in my car, so I am quickly running out of room. I can use all the ideas I can get!
Re: Auxilary Speaker Install
The case is not recessed, just the base of the magnet.
The speaker started out something like this:

(some generic speaker I bought from Sparkys CB when I stopped in)
The speaker case is two pieces of plastic, as you can see the line in the picture. It is simply screwed together. I took the case apart, only saving the top cover. I then cut a whole the size of the magnet, and used the screw holes aleady in the cover [to hold the two halfs together] to attach it to my b-pillar.
I'll try to post some actual pictures tomorrow, I'm juggling a couple projects right now.

^ I think Stealth Stalker wanted some "in-progress" kind of pictures.
For us DIY guys, it's always that kind of "porn" that makes us happy. :p:)
Re: Auxilary Speaker Install
That is a very nice install! Congrats!
Re: Auxilary Speaker Install
Alright, here's the step by step, but in reverse because I already did everything. Also, my car is normally cleaner, but I leave my windows down in the garage and I've been working with bondo, so it leaves a film over everything.
This is how the stock panel looks (I bought an extra panel to hack up, as I do with all my mods)
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...B/IMG_4038.jpghttp://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...B/IMG_4039.jpg
I then marked out the location on the back. I'm a tall person, so I never have the seat belt adjusted low. I drilled two of the holes off line, but then I got that fixed and lined all 4 up with holes in the back of the speaker. I used sheet metal screws to hold it in.
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...B/IMG_4014.jpghttp://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...B/IMG_4015.jpg
I then mounted the b-pillar back onto the car, feeding the seat belt through it. Notice how much of the car is missing  The whole car is layered piece my piece, so a lot had to come off.
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...B/IMG_4019.jpg
There are two screws at the bottom of the b-pillar, which are hidden by the rear side panel. So then that goes back on.
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...B/IMG_4022.jpg
There are torx screws holding the side panel in, 2 are hidden by the upper portion of the rear seat, 1 is hidden by the door seal.
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...h_IMG_4020.jpghttp://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...h_IMG_4021.jpg
Now the upper portion of the rear seat goes back in, which is held in by two screws, which you've probably guessed by now, are hidden by the lower portion of the rear seat.
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...B/IMG_4023.jpg
I then ran the wire down the with the other factory wires. My wire is in the white clips, the other wire laying randomly is with the seat.
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...B/IMG_4027.jpg
Now I put the door seal back, held in with 4 torx screws.
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...B/IMG_4030.jpg
I now put back on the seat rail cover, and the door seal plate that covers the 4 screws holding it in.
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...B/IMG_4031.jpg
The back of the door seal is connect to the rear side panel with another screw, which is covered by the rear seat. I then reconnected the seat belt base and put it's cover back on.
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...h_IMG_4032.jpghttp://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...h_IMG_4033.jpghttp://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...h_IMG_4034.jpg
Now everything is back together, the lower part of the rear seat is the only easy part, it simple latches in.
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...B/IMG_4037.jpg
Done!

Re: Auxilary Speaker Install
^ Superb! :)
Man, I wish I had time to do mods right....it's getting closer, now that Anna's older and either more willing to just hang by herself or, alternatively, to *really* get in on the project with me.
I can't wait to re-do all the wiring that I've got, running "outside" the car, now! :) :o If I had a date-stamp on the mods to my car, you'd literally be able to tell the week when Anna popped out of Sara's tummy. Prior, all the mods were "done right." Immediately thereafter, well, it's "the baby's napping, and I can get in 30 minutes, GO!!!"
I'm really envious of such awesome work, REB
I've been sitting on my hands for nearly 6 months, now, with my DIY-intercooler sprayer mod. I've got a spare driver's side knee panel, too.
Sigh.....
