wow
Gee, all the Rds look great even at 9 miles. :banghead:
I haven't even looked yet but I predict no real results included with unreadable crappy graphs or possibly the number of leds indicated with a couple of pictures of ugly models with radar guns mounted on their heads as they cross their eyes.
Also, did anybody notice a certain logo on their webpage from a company that is not included in their testing?
It's time for SML to hang it up because their results are crap and they don't have good testing methods.
TOTALLY USELESS!
Everything kicks ass is not helpful! They haven't learned, or more likely, they don't want to learn so as to keep the money flowing in from those companies that make lower-performing RDs.
Wow, I didn't know Santa attended the latest test.

My questions are:
The cobra is invisible to everything?
Do these people seriously sit in the flat desert and shoot guns to see how high the signal measures on the detector? I guess they have never heard of over the hill or around the corner.
Who has time to sit at the computer and type out pages and pages of words that sound good and mean nothing?
I was going to say the same thing about santa using laser now. I guess he has to make sure the reindeer aren't flying above the speed of snow.
SML is like eating at a 5 star restaurant. You've just had exquisite, food, drinks and service. The next day you wake up feeling terrible with a fever and diarrhea. Then, you turn on the news and hear the place is shut down because of salmonella.

Heck, even my v1 tells me when a cobra is nearby.
I don't want to come off like I'm defending Cobra, or SML, but you guys have to think of the mechanics of it. Just because the Cobra is leaky as hell and sets off our detectors doesn't mean it will set off an RDD. It's all about WHAT the LO board leaks, not just that it leaks at all. Being that cops looking for RD users are using an RDD and not a V1, they don't have to worry about not leaking AT ALL, they just have to worry about leaking on the right frequency. It is not outside the realm of possibility that Cobra has tuned their LO to leak on frequencies that the RDDs don't pick up.
All that being said...there are a few flags on that spreadsheet that make me want to call shenanigans on the whole friggin thing.

Haa, haaaa, what a CIRCUS!!!
Simply buy the cheapest Cobra and you're ready to go!
Is it some sort of April Fools?
Why they employ Dwarfs?
Where are STi-R and 9500ci - are they as good as $99 Cobras?
I propose change the name of this... this... this SML - it should be AWT: Annual Wasting of Time
I don't know why they are scared they would do fine against these test's, a RMR would look like a solid performer at SML. These tests are worthless.
It's interesting that Spectre IV has less range than Spectre III.
GTO_04
a cobra model was not able to be picked up by the spectra......? fail
If SML can put on this crappy uninformative test for $7000 I can't imagine what GOL could do with that budget, It would be insanely informative and a bang up test.
I love how they pretend that the companies were invited and it was free to come. SML actually charges an entrance fee, and the detectors and jammers are provided by the dealers/company reps. That really isn't unbiased.
As with the laser jammer test, nice PROTOTYPE testing SML. They tested a jammer that wasn't even in retail form. How can they pretend to be a retail test when the jammer is still not available to the public. Blinder also put a nice dig on those that it THINK are violating their patent. Got news for you Blinder how about you actually prove your statements before you go speading lies. Innocent until proven guilty! At least thats the stance of all Blinder executives and reps when I ask them about their violations of the 3 Lidatek Patents they violate. Nice double standard Blinder!
the best and most meaningful tests are the ones thatWE ALL do as enthusiasts!
The entire report is so completely pointless and nonsensical that it reminds me of a satirical article out of The Onion or something. You read this thing and you're left thinking, "They're joking, right?"

Well,
first, why is it that this year they didn't have certified officers shooting laser, but a Stalker rep shooting a Stalker?
Who seemed to pan wildly trying to get PT instead of the standard shooting tests.
I won't even get into the detector stuff, but they seem to do business as usual, and when the "paid" participants didn't do well they seem to get do overs that then get reported "officially" as 100% performance when they missed alerts.....
I'm sure i could go on and on about all the discrepancies over the years, but anyone with half a brain should be smart enough to take these results for what they are worth.
I'm SHOCKED that RMR wasn't there with their high-tech stuff...:D:D:D
I call :bs2: Considering that the Spectre is a modified radar detector and that our detectors can pick up leaky Cobras, I don't see how it could be invisible to Spectre II and above. Cobra only claims immunity to Spectre I and VG-2. I haven't confirmed whether my 9960g can actually alert to the Spectre, but Radar Roy did state in his review that it did not alert to his Spectre.
I wish I had back the 20 or so minutes I spent trying to read their worthless report!!:(
The only people that SML is good for is Cobra and Whistler, because this gives them a http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/7720/drevilnyn.jpg credible authority that shows their products performing with the V1 and the Belscorts.
I held out this long, and finally decided to take the plunge and waste a few minutes reading another completely useless test from SML. It seems that every detector is equally good at everything.

Happy is right, the testing done by us the enthusiasts are the best tests which should be UNBIASED! Seeing those Cobra test results from SML really makes me LOL.:D SML, "WE" CAN DO MUCH BETTER THAN THAT. My problem right now is why didn't SML have a Escort Redline rd there to test? If they really wanted to size up the test, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN THERE. Yes I know it's a new rd folks. I say anyone of us can beat SML's testing results on own our soil w/ our own tight pockets or take a trip out to the salt flats of Utah and have at it w/ testing and bring plenty of drinking water.

This information is by no means to be misconstrued by members of this board!
This test would be like a test of all of the latest PC video cards. The game used to test these video cards would be Duke Nukem 3D Wolfenstein 3D and Doom 1
crappy useless test with poor presentation.
9 miles test. waste of time, whens the last time you got 9 miles of alert?
give me real world testing, over hill, around curve, etc
So another words we have to guess if it was there than huh SS?
