Redline First Impressions...
Well I got my redline earlier today and so far I'm not impressed. I opened up the box and pulled out the redline, to my surprise, the paint on the redline was tacky. The paint almost felt like it wasnt completely dry. I'm not sure how I feel about the semi glossy finish, it looks almost like a toy or something that was spray painted with over the counter "gloss" spray paint. I guess we'll see how the performance is. The only thing I have seen so far was the usual K band falses on my daily route to which it alerted almost at the same time as the V1, (they are separated on each end of the windshield).
I will be testing the QT response and doing some comparisons with my 3.872 V1 and an STI tonight. Keep an eye out for videos. Let me know if you have any special requests.
Edit: I have 2 Stalker ATR's (34.7), a Kustom Talon (35.5) and a Kustom K band gun available for testing, so if anyone wants to see something specific, let me know

I'd love to see you try each of those guns on the redline using a Q/T technique - maybe try 1/4 sec increments (.25 sec, .5 sec, .75 sec, 1 sec, etc) and see how long of a pull you need to establish consistent (maybe 80-90% consistency) in picking up the signal.

Re: Redline First Impressions...
Please try it against your Ka guns with only one powered up at a time. Heck, the K gun too.
The V1 isn't stealth, and might hurt the Redline's performance. (but you know that);)

Re: Redline First Impressions...
Run the V1 in "A" and the Redline in "Hwy" for comparison...

I run my 9500ix and V1 on each end of the windshields and the interference has seems minimal at most. I'd say you're safe. What are you initial observations regarding QT performance on the Redline?

Re: Redline First Impressions...
looking forward to it CBR. I bet my life on it QT will be no different than 9500CI

Re: Redline First Impressions...
The no pics or video has me beside myself from the first two posters here.
Your gift is ALL OF OURS.... now give us the goods! :D
Seriously though.
Q-T testing, and real-encounter scenario testing would be great.

Re: Redline First Impressions...
When I first opened this thread I was this excited: :D

Re: Redline First Impressions...
Elvato and I are about to head out to make some Vids, had to wait for the traffic to die down to provide a better test environment. On the list for tonight will be QT as well as CO testing. I'll try to do some comparison to the V1 and STI.
Here's some pics to hold you guys over:

I was thinking the exact same thing :D

Re: Redline First Impressions...
Well we know what the set-back on the units was now... Escort likely had a hard time spelling "Incredible"on their boxes. :D
Great pictures though, what do you think about the funky 'lip' at the front so far CBR yay or nay?
I am thinking nay.
Great pics though, thank you!

Hmmm. I thought it was because they were waiting for the paint to dry...
One thing is obvious from early reports...it wasn't because they were fixing QT/IO.

Definite NAY, after using the STI back to back with the redline, the duckbill definitly makes it more difficult to use. Everytime I press a button on it, I feel like the Redline is going to fall off the windshield. The new alert light is kinda cool though.

Re: Redline First Impressions...
Did it come with the new mount ?

It would've been funnier if he scaled, or thumbnailed the picture.

Re: Redline First Impressions...
At least V1 and Whistler give the option to adjust alert response through ka guard and filter modes. Belscort offer the owner no adjustment at all. . I am with happya$$, Belscort loves a quiet detector and I do not see them making any changes. We should at least list reason for return as no alert to short instant on shots.

Damn jazzy I was going to try to pull that joke off haha, you beat me to it

The Redline came with the old mount. I actually prefer the old mount to the new one, the proto mount did not seem to want to hold heavier detectors like the STI on the windshield as well as the old mount.

I just didn't like how if you have heavily sloped window you can't get the detector level. I didn't have any issues with the suction cups not holding.

The IX is a feather compared to the STI ;)

Re: Redline First Impressions...
You know I never got why they put flashing lights on the front of the redline.
It has spectre immunity for what reason? Thats right to have it in places that RD's are not allowed. But yet they have a windshield mounted detector with flashy lights to grab all the leo's attention.

The STi's mute button flashes during an alert too.
But you can turn the flashing lights off if you need true stealth. I wonder if the light flashes if you put the RD in dark mode.
