They do not have any warranty regardless what the seller say. My 9500CI had to be returned 2 times in 6 months. The rear shifter never alerted to the Ultralyte and the radar head had water in it after 6 months.
Hmm, either way, fixing something is bound to be cheaper than $600. I paid $920 for mine on eBay 12-2008.
I tested it a little bit:

The radar was 90º to the road, hence the low numbers, but it depicts a worst case scenario.
Surprisingly the ZR4s were able to provide JTG performance even with a front plate and no other counter measures (plate shield, veil, etc...).
The rear is useless for jamming, partially because of my install (lip above plate) and partially because it's a ZR4, but it does alert.
Did you test the rear jammer against the Ultralyte? Many have reported that the rear does not warn and jam against it. I know because mine did not work during testing until i RMA it.
Neither did (at the moment) Cbr's. Still don't think it does, though it doesn't matter, since I have all 3 heads up front, so the fronts alert to it.
I don't have a clue, and it doesn't honestly matter. As I said before, the rear jammer is useless. The front two manage to JTG somehow on a PLII, and I've always been fine with the PLIII ISP uses.
ZR4 looks pretty decent in that test.
Go for it. Then just get a warranty from square trade.
How long is the factory warranty? I am purchasing my 9500ci on ebay... Is there any problem with registering it and getting updates? Ebay seller says that is not a problem... but ad does stay away from saying "warranty"...
Granted I don't have the 9500ci, but I DO have the STi Driver and ZR4 setup. The rear head on my ZR4 was not working at all, which was confirmed at GOL 2009 in August. After I returned from Cleveland, I removed the rear head and upon inspection found that the casing was warped and slightly cracked along the top (where the case comes together). I sent it in to Belscort, and was told they could find nothing wrong. Regardless, they swapped it out for a new one. I reinstalled it, tested it with an old TV remote control, and VOILA! Now to have it tested against real LIDAR...NY only shoots from the front at this time.:D
If you buy off ebay, you will be able to register to get free updates but warranty for defects is another story. Escort wants you to send the broken part and copy of recipe. Ebay recipe is not good. The seller must be an escort authorized seller and the invoice must be from an authorized seller. If the recipe is from an authorize seller, the seller will lose his rights to buy/sell escort products for selling on ebay below retail price. Don't ask how i know. Victor, your rear zr4 may show that it works fine but may not work to all guns. My 1st rear zr4 jammed the PL3 and stalker fine but did not alert to the Ultralyte LR-B. If the rear was hit by the Ultralyte, the zr4 will not alert to any guns including the PL3 and stalker until i reset the zr4 completely. My 2nd zr4 rear head works great. Able to JFG at >400ft every time of the ultralyte and stalker. Still a fail since most of my rear shots are at 500ft but hey, it does JFG with the PL3.
