Define a lot. Once/minute, once/hour?
A couple times a day...
It did it when i first started my truck today when i was at my Horse barn where there wasnt a LEO in miles.
Its done it on the freeway a few times. A couple on the streets. It beeps laser for like 2 or 3 seconds with those dashes and stops.
The majority of V1 laser falses on SoCal freeways come from LCC(laser cruise control) equipped vehicles, usually Infinity SUVs. The one in your barn, I can't expalin without more info. LCD screens in your vehicle is one possible explanation. Also, horse barn in SoCal? WTF? :D

Sounds like an LCD screen as was mentioned above.
Potential sources of laser falses are covered in the manual:
Quote:
Laser False Alarms
- Red neon, from stores and occasionally from brake lights of other cars (example: Chevy TrailBlazer, GMC Envoy, Olds Bravada and Buick Rainier), can imitate the characteristics of speed laser. Solution: Move away from source.
- The electrical systems of some cars generate electromagnetic interferences, triggering laser alerts. How to test: Try V1 in a different car. Possible solution: Try relocating detector within the interfering car; also, your dealer may have a factory fix.
- Adaptive cruise control systems using laser may cause laser alerts. Solution: Switch to normal cruise control
Yeah i have an LCD screen. HMmmmmm
My old 94 model did when in line of weather radar. It would alert about every 15 seconds when the radar rotated around with a front laser then a rear laser warning. Interstate north of Nashville Tennesee and near Moulton Alabama. The new 3.872 does not do it!
The V1 is very sensitive with laser.
Here are some possible sources:
1. Sun
2. Several Infiniti models. (FX, GX, G37)
3. Amber flashing road sign, I have one near by my place that triggers an alert every single time!
Please take the time to read the V1 manual laser section.
Pay attention to the weather and landscape and ask yourself if laser can be present if you get an alert.
The best protection from laser is a jammer, but that will be another conversation.
* J outs will not occur on any signal but Ka Radar.
I have been getting quite a few laser falses too. I have had it J out 4 times already with probably 10 laser falses.
And I have only had my V1 since Christmas.
I have had 4 false lasers since I bought my V1 before Xmas. They seem to happen in the same vicinity, but don't happen every day. I am not aware of any neon signs and I don't drive an Infinity. I have a 98 Acura CL. These laser falses never filter out as Junk.
Laser is never filtered by J. Only ka band the detector sees as coming from another detector (read Cobra).
This last Sunday I got a laser alert going through a town on my way to work. I never got any alerts before in this area. Then it happened again the next morning, laser, then went quiet. Then I spotted the LEO visually directly to my right. I almost missed seeing him. Up to that point, I was wondering if I was receiving a false. Now next 2 days, yesterday and today, he's not there, or I didn't receive a laser alert. It's dark so I don't know, but he was not standing in the exact spot where I saw him the one time.
So now I have another spot used by LEO that I will stay cautious on, although I think the spot is rarely used.
