ouch. just quoted $650 for the install at speakerlab in seattle.
Jeremy at SpeakerLab will do you a very fine job. I highly recommend him!
Seems like a reasonable price quote to me.... I don't know how much you expected to spend, given you're spending $1500 on the LI plus rd, on a 50K car... but for the disassembly required and care taken on my car the install price at SpeakerLab was well worth it. Maybe stop by Benchmark in Bellevue for a real eye-opener on quotes!
SpeakerLab does quality un-time-pressured work. See this thread for pics:

You of course could take your car to Car Toys and get a quote, maybe a little less. Other than that, I agree with the others, DIY it. I know though, that I would not have the guts to pry off the poplar-veneer trim components necessary for the install I had Jeremy do, and don't have the right tools anyway.
Good luck whatever you decide,
Cal
Cartoys in Seattle quoted me $500 for a 4 head setup today.
If I may put this into perspective, we have a small, local installer near our office do all our installs since our inception in 2008. The cost for a QUAD was $550.00 on a German SUV and Sedan so I think these quotes are quite reasonable and realistic as they all seem to come in at about the same price.

I have installed over 5 jammers all on Japanese car and the install are very easy as I did not have to take apart my entire dash and back seat. I've seen pics of German cars where they had to take the whole car apart like bumper, interior dash, and seats. While 600 bones is expensive, I think it's about right on German cars since it's at least twice the work compare to hondas.
Many cars do not have to be taken apart, if you do a simple install (talking about open air dams, grills) and don't mind squeezing into tight places with your hands this is for Blinder and LI installs. The inside is easy as mounting a switch and for the blinder a led.
yea, I only have the 2 heads up front for now, will give it a go this weekend most likely.
