radar detector emissions= concerns??
This has been brought up before, but the discusion seemed to have drifted.
Does anyone know or have information regarding emissions from radar detectors? Have there been any cases where health concerns were linked to r/d.
I've just installed my v1 above the rear vision mirror and have experienced occasional headaches... I'm going to get my eyes checked (as I'm turning 40 :()just to make sure that it is age related:) Spoke to a radar detector "technician" here and he said that mobile phone emissions are far more "potent" that r/ds, but I spend far more time in my car with the radr on than talking on a phone.
Re: radar detector emissions= concerns??
I've also thought about this for quite sometime now. It must have at least some adverse effect on our health especially considering it's "leaking" radio signals in close proximity to our brains lol.
Re: radar detector emissions= concerns??
There may be health concerns related to radar police guns, but i personally wouldn't worry about the radar detector's output "forces"/"signals".
It's not good to be sitting in front of a laser jammer, though.

Lol not unless you want to heighten the sensitivity of your other senses. :D
Re: radar detector emissions= concerns??
Just my thought - it would seem if the emissions were a health/safety concern to a particular level, a disclosure notice accompany each detector of concern to include proximity & time exposure. But I dunno, just thought I'd jot-a-thought.
Re: radar detector emissions= concerns??
I wouldn't worry about it, unless your driving with the horn pointed at your head all day or something. If that's the case, you're already brain damaged.
Re: radar detector emissions= concerns??
IMO you will get more emissions from a cell phone than a RD.

It's all in your head. If there were issues, you know the news would be all over it.

How many hours did you spend in the 70s, 80s and 90s, in front of a Cathode Ray Tube TV? How many times have you used your microwave at home? How many cell phone calls have you placed or received? I wouldn't worry so much about you RD.

Not to mention AM/FM radio, HAM radio (so pretty much the whole spectrum there), sound waves, etc, etc.

:haha:
You had me on the floor with that one!

Lets not forget that the sun itself also puts out a whole lot of RF from all across the spectrum. Microwaves, gamma, UV, X rays and infrared just to name a few.
