February 2010 Atlanta Jammerfest Results
OK, I have gotten about half of the results compiled. Here's what I have for now, I should finish the rest tomorrow evening.
http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?k...Yb09aeVE&hl=en
CM = Center Mass
PHL = Passenger Headlight / Tail Light
SC = Shooter's Choice (if no obvious weakpoint had been found the shooter would look for a weakspot)

Re: February 2010 Atlanta Jammerfest Results
looks good, not counting bad installs the new blinder is a great product and can basically JTG on most cars.
-
Re: February 2010 Atlanta Jammerfest Results
Blinder's did pretty good. The weakspots in the installs were quickly picked up though on the MOAC.
-
Re: February 2010 Atlanta Jammerfest Results
ohh yeah I forgot you did it there, so basically if you do ok on that course you should be great in real life and if you JTG there you are basically invisible in real life, so then the blinders did even better then I thought.

Re: February 2010 Atlanta Jammerfest Results
Here's another interesting lesson....
I have my RD (GX65) mounted stealth in a visor mount. Its up high. It caught all of the forward LIDAR hits pretty much at the same time the Blinders did. That's not the surprising part.
What is surprising is that it caught the majority of the rear hits fairly close and all of them after about 500 ft. This is in a large 4 door truck, and that RD is pretty much covered up, yet it still picked it up even though its just about level with my head and slightly offset to the right. So the next time someone asks if mounting the RD high hurts LIDAR reception.... from the front: no. From the rear, it helps because its not blocked by a body, seats, etc.
Also found out that the silver stripes on my truck are deadly, and might be impossible to protect. Did okay against LIDAR (held for a few seconds before PT so at least I have a fighting chance).... except when it was shooters choice and he aimed high on the stripes. Near instant PT. Gotta figure out what my next steps are... but I will do something about it one way or another. I don't look at PTs as failure, for me or anyone else. Knowing the weak points in my setup is just as important, if not more, than knowing the strong points.
I think by the time we process all of our experiences a huge amount of data is going to come out of these tests since we had some many different setups against a fair number of guns on a course from hell.
You see that black erosion mesh on the right side of the road coming down the hill. You can't tell in the videos but in most cars they cover up the right jammer from seeing the gun for a second or so, leaving the entire job of jamming to only one side. That's the ultimate in seeing if your jammers do the job!

More in my book, if you think you are JTFG because to always test on a favorable course then it's a false sense of security.
This course showed exactly where your weakness is, and now you have to find a way to make it was. CM weakness is a big thing!!

Re: February 2010 Atlanta Jammerfest Results
Cat,
While its on my mind, I wanted to publicly thank you for everything you did, volunteering all that time, your guns, etc. I know it was fun at first but after about 5 hours of being right there with the shooter, writing down results and handling the radio it must have tried your patience. I think we all owe you a debt.
My videos should be available by mid-week. I have about 3.5 hours to comb through, and edit out car tags on, if any. In the lounge... of course. :)

Always a pleasure to help out any way I can. I really enjoy it and getting to meet some of the people here I chat with on a regular basis is always a plus. Always nice to have a face to put with the name.
I want to thank Swamp and JMCCAM for going the extra mile to attend. They drove in from 100's of miles away to take part. Now that's dedication.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting to be in the company of a Ferrari, four M-B SLK's, a 'Vette, a few Bimmers and a Mustang or three thrown in for good measure.
Kind of cool that its not about what you drive, but how you drive (and protect) it, LOL!

Re: February 2010 Atlanta Jammerfest Results

Re: February 2010 Atlanta Jammerfest Results

Re: February 2010 Atlanta Jammerfest Results
:thumb2: Thanks for doing this jammer test guys. I know it takes alot of time and effort to setup a jammer meet. Who is the owner of the Ferrari though? He or she got owned...

Re: February 2010 Atlanta Jammerfest Results
It seems as though the Blinder M-47's and the LI's performed pretty similarly. Odd punchthroughs in the LI's.
Maybe i can't interpret results very well, i dont know? :hmmmm2:

Something does seem weird about Muddy's LI setup, particularly the jammer head near the passenger side headlight. I understand the shooter is good and that the MOAC is hard but getting 500+ ft with a PL3 when aiming only at the headlight is kind of strange. I've gotten similar big PTs on a LI Dual before but we later examined the setup and found that one of the heads wasn't pointing straight.

He had them installed on the the underside of his front bumper to the widest allowable point.
Talked to him...very nice guy.

Re: February 2010 Atlanta Jammerfest Results
I had a lot of fun. Just wanted to let everyone know it was a pleasure meeting you.
I only regret that I did not get to shoot category4's vette with the LRB. We all know he would have left crying again :p

Re: February 2010 Atlanta Jammerfest Results
Man, if half the enforcers could shoot as good as you, alot of people would be in trouble, ordering my setup today!!. Ryan did very well I see (black M3), makes me feel good seeing we have the same car, although mine is alpine white. Laser use around where I live is crazy!!! Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, Forsyth County etc...

Thanks for the kind words. The problem is that I used to get much higher PT in the past. However, from all our testing madness many members have perfected their setups, making it harder on me. Yeah black really helps...... Best advice I can you give you to protect your white M3 is get a LI and install it as wide as possible.

Re: February 2010 Atlanta Jammerfest Results
I revised the original link to now include all the results. There were a few runs made after Rsatmans left so the new shooter was noted for those runs.
---> indicates instant PT after the last recorded distance.

Re: February 2010 Atlanta Jammerfest Results
Wow, so the larger vehicles did better up front than most of the smaller vehicles against the UL. Not only that, but the baselines with the UL of the F250 and F150 were smaller than the UL PT (with the LI turned ON) on srtga's vehicle. What vehicle does Solion have?
If I remember the picture correctly, the MOAC has a bunch of twists and turns. Is there a bend around 1000-1100 feet?

1100-1000 feet is a bend and it transitions from downhill to level.

Re: February 2010 Atlanta Jammerfest Results
The F150 is black. The F250 is white but half the front was painted black by the owner. I think that helped. Also, the headlights and fogs on the F150 were Veiled, not sure about the F250.
-
Re: February 2010 Atlanta Jammerfest Results
I also believe the F250 had a Gen 8?

No I think it was gen 7. I think he got it just before the gen 8's came out.
