News on Veil RAM (radar absorbent material)?
Is there any news on Veil ever doing something that could be used as a vehicle wrap?
Or a Veil RAM (radar absorbent material)?
All the site says, that they tried making a RAM, but said it wouldn't work.
(yes, I'm aware that shape of the vehicle matters just as much as the RAM, but any bit helps..)

Re: News on Veil RAM (radar absorbent material)?
It wouldn't work.
Remember, radar is used to get the speed of baseballs everyday. There is nothing you can do to passively eliminate your car's radar signature.

Re: News on Veil RAM (radar absorbent material)?
With the Have Blue project developed by LM, it was determined that the shape is 85% of the stealth equation. The specialized RAM coating that is used is good for the other 15%, has to be applied prior to every sortie, and is hazardous material.
Such materials are not at all practical for consumer vehicles. Hey, but at least, we tried.

Re: News on Veil RAM (radar absorbent material)?
Thanks Veilguy for your quick response. :)
-
Re: News on Veil RAM (radar absorbent material)?
This is what im working on for that 85%, but im going to need a lot of Veil.

Re: News on Veil RAM (radar absorbent material)?
CJR238,
NOW you have given me something to work with!
We're going to send some MILSPEC Veil RAM for your testing.
Please let me know how it goes.
PS: Remember, it's carcinogenic. Please sign the liability release form we're going to be sending you.

Re: News on Veil RAM (radar absorbent material)?
I really hope a NEW and IMPROVED Veil comes out soon ... I would like to buy some.

Sounds like we better wait for our universal healthcare to kick in before we test it!

You missed the thread:D. We should all register on a politics forum under the same name and we can attempt to "discuss" it without breaking any rules.
I don't know how CRJ is going to write the report if he has cancer. (this line has no reference my reply above)

Re: News on Veil RAM (radar absorbent material)?
Pick one and PM me, I'll send you the handle that I will use.

I'll do it tomorrow. It seems like we agree on this issue.
To keep you busy.

v1user,
I wonder...since the fireworks tend to fly on many issues related to RDs here, I can only imagine how the dialogue/flaming (with some) would go on the topic of POLITICS...I rekon, we ain't seen notin' yet. :D

If i haven't gotten it yet i think ill be fine, besides universal healthcare will cover me. Even for preexzisting conditions!
That's only if the government doesn't go bankrupt first. Better learn to speak Chinese soon.

I agree to disagree :
you can cut it per as little as 1% ....every bits help
Look at ''emerson cuming AN ''
Veil Guy ,
Some material could be carcinogenic but I doubt Emerson Cuming
wants to deal selling such material ,
by the way since when graphite/carbon
induce cancer ? It is the main ingredient
in passive absorber ....meaning soaking the rf energy.
Yes the humble pencil contains graphite...
Just put one in a microwave to see his reaction
to rf .
Autorities sometimes try to make believe their technologies
are out-of-space , so noone wants to test them
Why on this site any idea is immediately tagged as farfelous/frivolous/impossiblous ? What made America
is trying thousands of idea to get one good ....

Re: News on Veil RAM (radar absorbent material)?
Eloi,
By all means, if an individual would like to invest millions of dollars and years of their life to try to come up with something that works, I say power to them...
Just remember, though, Washington has made it a bit tougher to declare bankruptcy, unless of course you have squandered tens/hundreds of billions then you can get in and out in about two weeks and get a taxpayer-funded bailout to boot.

Ummm... I didn't say it was impossible to make a 1 percent difference. I said you could not eliminate your radar profile with passive measures. That is indisputable.
Everything is possible. It just ain't going to happen on a consumer's budget.

Cant even eliminate it for US$700 million +. Even a stealth bomber has some signature.

Completely agree , even the most stealthed plane has the Rcs of
a large bird .
Then comes the active technology to cover up the leftover.
The still in the lab products are biological absorbers ...

Meanwhile out-of-usa labs are digging ideas that
will change the world :

The stealth bomber isn't even stealth anymore. It can be seen by a modern radar system.

Re: News on Veil RAM (radar absorbent material)?
Let's get back to the topic of RAM. Too much politics here..
Veil, what was the material like you've been playing with?
Was it a foil, or was it a liquid?
Tell us more about it.
I love to dream about future technology.

Re: News on Veil RAM (radar absorbent material)?
I'd love to tell you...but, for what I hope is obvious reasons, am restricted in doing so.

Re: News on Veil RAM (radar absorbent material)?
Well, you cover your car with RF EchoSorb like they use on the walls of anechoic chambers for testing radar signatures of aircraft. You would be totally invisible (to radar anyway. It would be hard to miss visually.) It'd seriously screw up the aerodynamics of your lambo but on the flip side, you're car would look wicked-cool. Like a rolling torture chamber turned inside-out.

I'd be happy if they would just make a laser head and taillight film, like light tint Headlight Armour (Install Gallery - Smoked Taillights), that you could stick on instead of this painting hassle.
Both products exist, there has to be some way to combine them sucessfully!

I agree a film/wrap would be really neat.
It would be an easy way to wrap nearly the whole front end of a car.
