Nope, no need. I JTGd everything but the PLII which no one uses around here, so why bother? I think the back LIs will be just as good once I get them leveled. Even though this car is ridiculously reflective, it has nice mounting locations. Also, I get a new company car every year at this new job. It's already enough work to move all of my stuff. Adding Veil to that list does not sound pleasant.

Considering the risks you face there, I think I'd make a special effort to test elevated off-axis shots since the CHiPs seem to be using the on-ramps for shooting from.

Maybe this is a really dumb question, but what is that mirror? It's plugged in.

That mirror has a video camera built in.

Like the others have said, it's a video camera. What I like about it is that it's automatic. I start the car and it starts recording. I don't have to charge the batteries or mount the camera every time I get in my car or anything like that. Hassle-free.

Also, one thing I'd like to add is that JT had a brilliant idea to move the back window switch to the center so that we would have a better mount location for my rear passenger side sensor, while still leaving the back window switch operational.

Cant have two cars???? that has to be a shocker I wouldn't want to drive that all the time that's just me tho
Re: 2010 Ford Escape Quad LI 9500ci V1
DJ - Sorry to hear about the Mustang. I hope the new Escape works as well, albeit a bit slower.
Thank you for the information on the sensor placement on your Mustang as it was invaluable in designing and installing the setup on my Shelby
Re: 2010 Ford Escape Quad LI 9500ci V1
Hey DJ, how hard was it to install the rear heads? What are they secured with? Thinking of adding rear heads to my Ford SUV.

Right now, the rear sensors are held on with 3M tape, but they're nowhere near level. They're pointed up slightly, which actually might be a good thing since most rear shots come from overpasses and onramps. I'm gonna remount them when I get some time. They still performed reasonably well in testing, even out of level.

That's cool, some still do it (not many any more, I don't think). What surprised me is that a company would let you install countermeasures.... they probably don't know about it, right? Seems like their risk management types would be all over it.
Way to go!

Great install. I see how the brackets are used now. =)
How was the testing on it?

Probably sometime this week.
Re: 2010 Ford Escape Quad LI 9500ci V1
I can't wait to find out. I hope it goes well.
Re: 2010 Ford Escape Quad LI 9500ci V1
Look at the bright side: now you'll have the opportunity to get a newer Mustang with more horsepower and make it a garage queen. :D
